Picked up a few things at Arcade Expo yesterday. A few NES manuals, Fire Mustang MD import that's a little beat but oh well, Atari/C64 mini joystick, Frogger (for someone else), and Demons to Diamonds for 2600.

Also just gonna put this here since it was also from Expo. This was one of my favorite books of my dad's to flip through as a kid because of the cool pictures. Got this for $2, maybe I'll actually read the text now.

Good. I hope it stays that way. Every time there is an article like that, or one of the more popular YouTube reviewers does something on some fairly unknown games, prices go right up.

My wife and I took a trip to the NC mountains this weekend, and I picked up:

Image

Kya: Dark Lineage (PS2; complete) - $5
Trapt (PS2; complete) - $7
Yakuza (PS2; complete) - $2
Captain Silver (SMS; complete) - $8
Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii; complete) - $25!!!
Airforce Delta Storm (XBOX; complete) - $7
Freedom Fighters (XBOX; complete) - $7
Myst III: Exile (XBOX; complete) - $1

I also picked a few items for the charity auction...

I am most excited about Metroid Prime Trilogy. I found it at a pawn shop that I would have passed if my wife had not asked me to stop the car so that she could use the bath room. (The lesson being that you shoudl always stop the car if your wife needs to use the bath room..especially if it is near a place that might sell video games.) They were having a "buy one get one 1/2 off" sale on video games, and I spotted Metroid Prime Trilogy. When I picked it up, I was dismayed to see that it was marked $49.99, but I decided to go for it anyway because: (1) that is still a pretty good price; (2) the game is absolutely pristine; and (3) I have wanted it for a very long time. After some searching, I picked up a couple other games (i.e., Yakuza (PS2) and a GBA game for the charity auction), and I struck up a conversation with the clerk about Yakuza. After he scanned all of the items, he stated that my total came to $37...which was a bit lower than I expected since I was prepared to pay $50 for Metroid Prime Trilogy. Pleasantly surprised, I ran the numbers in my head and realized that I was paying full price for the $2 and $10 games and only $25 for Metroid Prime. Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Well fuck. The Fire Mustang cart had tape on it, which I didn't think too much of and took into consideration for the price I was paying. The cart wasn't actually screwed together, as I found out while cleaning it. So I get the tape off so I can try to salvage the top part of the label, then pop it in for a spin and I'm greeted with a the J version of DJ Boy, complete with the maybe racist level 1 boss. :x

I worry about this some times when trading or buying at game shops when traveling. When some one will give me something semi-rare and its Madden 92 inside. :(

Makes you wonder if even the people selling it at the show had tested it.

Oh wow Trapt is a Tecmo game with a cute anime girl on the cover?

The local record store always has multiple copies in stock, but I've never bothered to take a peek because it shares a name with that shitty nu metal band.

Either did I.

Maybe budsmoka painted it.
nope: the one I had as a kid and the one I have now are both white.

It's awesome you got a TI-99/4A! Now get Parsec, Hopper, and maybe Car Wars...

Most of my TI-99 stuff:

Oh, Car Wars is the game I have! I couldn't remember the name which is why I simply wrote "a car racing game" when I made my post.

Nice collection - I will eventually check out some more games myself.
