You can apparently take hostages when using a gun. Just found out accidentally and I haven't been able since.

Also, the soundtrack is in the game folder and I am currently playing :D

This is the first game in a long time where I have felt motivated to come back after beating it, not because of an OCD need to find secrets, but because I just want to play it more. It's simply fun to play and I strangely find it enjoyable even when I die in this game. That's usually when I laugh the hardest. I've also been inspired to just try strange things, like to kill every bad guy with a katana, or to attempt to only kill bare handed.

Rock Paper Shotgun keeps running articles about this game. They really like it there. I liked what they had to say about the enjoyable nature of the difficulty and the frequent player deaths: It hones you while it owns you.

This one has some spoilers:

After reading the RPS article that said that the developer went on Pirate Bay and gave tech support for free made me want to buy the game even though I dont care for the game style at all.

Usually if it is an indie game and JT gives it a thumbs up I am willing to give it a chance, but the brutality of this one is a bit over the top for me.

Hehe now I'm getting better at it, thanks  Definitely my favourite indie outing this year. There's a new gamepad update btw.

I just beat it in a total of 2 sittings. Very fun and very tense. I absolutely loved the soundtrack and just as the reviews said there is a Drive vibe to it all. The story still has me a bit confused but I think I have it figured out, or at least I have an interpretation that my mind is happy with:
Mask man was put into a coma by the curb stomp to the head from the Biker guy as you see in mission 18. Biker guy's story is the real one. The Mask man's is a nightmare/coma dream
Still, it's hard to be sure. I'm sure I missed something that will probably make that interpretation a bit... wrong.

I'm going to give Drive another go because of this game.
