Top ten Saturn games?

Post by General Chaos »

Forgive me if something similar has been posted before, but I've been toying around with my own notion of what my favorite Saturn games are, and I'd like to know how everyone else ranks their favorites as well.

Mine are (in order of 1-10):

Guardian Heroes
Dragon Force
Shining Force 3
Radiant Silvergun
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Three Dirty Dwarves
Dark Savior
Legend of Oasis
Burning Rangers
Nights

Honestly I haven't played enough to really vote on this yet, unfortunately. I'd say Cyberbots is definitely in there, but almost everything I own right now is a fighter, so it's tough to call it.

Three Dirty Dwarves was really hard, by the way. I've only played it once, and it kicked my butt.

Yeah it is really hard. I know that most would rank several fighters in the top ten and I certainly recognize their worth, but in general I'm terrible at fighting games and can't enjoy them as much as other genres. I still enjoy Xmen Vs. Street Fighter and a few others on the Saturn though.

I havn't had my Saturn long enough to say, but the game I keep coming back to is Sega Rally Championship. So addictive trying to beat my Desert 1 lap time, played it for an hour just going round the same course trying to get a better time. I'd reccomend it to anyone who is marginally intrested in Racers.

Wow -- tough choices. These are with my gaming tastes in mind, so keep that in consideration

Street Fighter Alpha 2
Nights in Dreams
X-Men vs Street Fighter
Guardian Heroes
Radiant Silvergun
Saturn Bomberman
Three Dirty Dwarves
Astra Superstars
Baku Baku
Die Hard Arcade

I'm not a huge RPG fan, so explains some missing titles that might otherwise dominate other people's lists.

It really makes you re-thing what you're used to with games of the genre.
That's what I love about it :)

I can definitely respect that list. Die Hard Arcade is such an awesome game.

Sega Rally is suberb. Yeah compare the to the arcade it took a frame rate and resolution hit but it still looks pretty good and they got the handling nailed. Yeah there only 4 tracks and 3 cars but those hours spent chasing those 3 perfect laps of each course was gold.

Nights is just gaming perfection. say no more

Haven't played that many games on the Saturn but the one I really enjoyed was Deep Fear(PAL). In some ways it kinda reminded me of the Resident Evil games.
