Post by dukenukem »

I loved the quirky ness of the first one even though i still can't beat the first level.Any one who's played the second one can tell me if it's just as fun as the first?

It is probably even more fun. They added a bunch of stuff and refined the basics. If you are in doubt have a look at one level in youtube.

There's a Michael Jackson cameo. Of course it's awesome.

Space Channel 5 is my very favorite rhythm game, but Space Channel 5 Part 2 is not far behind. I think that the first game has a better soundtrack and voice acting, and it is, overall, a little better experience. (Also, the battle with Evilla is sooooo awesome...definitely one of the best boss battles of all time.) The third stage in Part 2 is hard to beat, however...

In any event, if you enjoy the first game but are having difficulty with it, don't give up. The mechanics take some getting used to - and it is strange not having a visual indicating when you should press a button - but if you keep tapping your foot to the music, you will get it. (It took me well over an hour to get through the first level, but I got through some of the subsequent levels on my first try. The difficulty does spike at the end, however...)

I noticed that with one controller, I did a much better job with Space Channel 5 than another. Not all DC controllers are the same. Some have tighter movement response than others.
