like i said, i just had to contend for at least an honorable mention, seeing as the DC version is technically the closest to the arcade machine.
oh, well that's due. thanks. i think i should load up the dc disc and an emulator... wanna do a quick? favour? run mae or something and take a couple of pics of doa in action, i ust wanna see what doa 1 looked like, iirc it looked liek crap on ps1.

sadly mame can only run the doa++ version of DOA 1 (playstation type arcade hardware) but I got you a screen shot of it. I think it probably looks better than the PSX, allthough I don't have that on hand right now.
Heres DOA++ on mame:

I do have DOA 1 for saturn. i was able to emulate a screen shot out of that too. I threw it in my saturn afterwords, it's pretty accurate, allthough it lost some quality saving to jpg.

Oh ok I was about to say something about calling the Saturn version of Mortal Kombat II the best, and mentioning Vampire Chronicle on Dreamcast over Vampire Savior on Saturn!

Oh ok I was about to say something about calling the Saturn version of Mortal Kombat II the best, and mentioning Vampire Chronicle on Dreamcast over Vampire Savior on Saturn!
Which is why it needs an update.

Chronicle is a home exclusive release that blends every version of the series up to that point into one cohesive game (Much like Hyper SF2, and Hyper Alpha are to their respective subseries), so it should not be compared to Vampire Savior. They are disctinct entires.
im still confused about the vampire games and how many versions there are...
There are 6.
-Vampire Night (DS1)
- ... Hunter (DS2)
- ... Savior (DS3)
- ... Hunter 2 (JPN exclusive)
- ... Savior 2 (JPN exclusive)
- ... Chronicle (DS Chronicle Chaos Tower)

Street Fighter:
>>>Capcom Arcade Hits Volume 1, WIN XP
CCC Vol.2 (Xbox, PS2)
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
>>>Capcom Classics Collection PS2, Xbox.

Street Fighter II': Champion Edition
>>>Capcom Classics Collection PS2, Xbox.

Street Fighter II' Turbo: Hyper Fighting
>>>XBLA, Capcom Classics Collection PS2, Xbox.
SF Collection Vol.2 on PS1 deserves mention for all three. This port has less loading screens than the PS2's CCC Vol.1. Xbox port has little to absolutely no loading.
Super Street Fighter II
>>>Disc 1 of 1997's Street Fighter Collection, for Saturn.
PS1 port deserves mention as well. SSF2 on PS1 runs on equal ground.
Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition
>>>xbox or ps2, XBLA.
This game was never released via XBLA
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future
>>>PS2 or Xbox on the Anniversary disc (Dreamcast for features and fixes)
Perhaps update DC port with the RDC homebrew "Arcade Edition" of 3rd Strike as it restores Urien unblockables and CPS3 original music.
MSH
>>> Saturn
Idk but if the Saturn version somehow qualifies than I see no reason why the PSX port shouldn't as well.
X-Men: CotA
>>> Saturn (Japanese)
A friend of mine recently got a hold of the JPN version which i've never owned or played. After playing it back to back with my US version, the game perform exactly the same.
Capcom Vs. SNK 2
>>>Dreamcast, Ps2
Later PS2 JPN Re-release of CVS2 was based off of the horrible E.O. update where Kara Rolling was removed and Grooves P and A received modifications. Info here is fine though.
King of Fighters 94
>>>Re-Bout PS2 Japanese
94 on the US Orochi Collection actually runs real well also.
King of Fighters 95
>>>Orochi Collection (US Only) PS2* or Saturn JAP/PAL
Why only US version of Orochi on PS2 :?:
King of Fighters 96
>>>Orochi Collection PS2/Saturn JAP

King of Fighters 97
>>>Orochi Collection PS2/Saturn JAP
Both 96 and 97 run superior on the JPN PS2 release than the questionable US version.
King of Fighters 98
>>>Orochi Collection (US Only)*, Ultimate Match PS2* or Dreamcast (Dream Match 99)
98 on Orochi Collection US version and Dreamcast DM 99 are questionable ports. 98 in Ultimate Match via (NEO GEO mode) is def superior and also available in the US on the same platform as listed.
King of Fighters 2001
>>>PS2, NESTS Saga

01 on the US double pack release is a piece of shit port. NESTS saga FTW!
King of Fighters 2002
>>>PS2, Xbox
Dreamcast JPN release deserves mention as its the most accurate version than the 2 listed.
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
PS2
PS2 US version suffers from some serious slowdown for a majority of the console exclusive stages. Dev G1M2 must've messed up the port for the US release. (Note: This also applies for the US version of KOF XI which i did not include to mention as these console stages can be disabled and avoided, unlike NGBC where they cannot. Both JPN equivalents do not suffer from this.
Guilty Gear XX
>>>PS2
Xbox worth mentioning (even though it's based on #Reload update).
MK
>>>Mortal Kombat Deception "Premium Pack"
Provide platform info "Premium pacK" is available, PS2 Xbox. Latter version performs better.
MK II
>>> Saturn

Removal of the Saturn port. Replace with Midway Tressures 2 (Xbox,GCN,PS2) as well as Shaolin Monks (Xbox, PS2).
UMK III
>>> XBLA, NDS
Removal of XBLA as no longer available as a sole release. Add MKA Premium Edtion (PS2)
Tekken Tag
Update with Tekken Hybrid (PS3).
Dead or Alive 2
>>> DOA Hardcore PS2 (DOA Ultimate Xbox)
Add DC JPN DOA2 L.E. as it is far and away the most accurate to NAOMI arcade DOA2 Millenium.
DOA2 Ultimate is a strange one. It's really more of a completely new game than just a prettier DOA2 for Xbox. The games graphics engine is based off of DOA Xtreme Volleyball as oppose to NAOMI assets and the games mechanics borrow heavily from DOA3. Also, Just about every level from DOA2 has received a major overhaul in just about every respect that effects gameplay (New obstacles, Areas, Slopes, Arena size, you name it).
Virtua Fighter
>>>Saturn (PS2 has VF 10th Anniv. on the NTSC/U VF 4 EVO disc)

Add 32X port... and isn't VF 10th Anniversary just VF4 EVO with VF like visuals...

Exhausted... :mrgreen:

Capcom Generations 5 (JP) on Saturn and Ps1 is the exact same compilation. I've never had a chance to compare, but I'm assuming that there's no notable performance difference between the platforms.

Also, perhaps the Saturn version of Street Fighter Zero 3 should be mentioned for the SFA ports?

The only reason i did not mention Generations 5 on the SAT is because i've not had the opportunity to play it.

I think I had this up there because on the japanese version you can use the ram cart to make the game load more frames.
