Not necessarily the cheapest month, but I'm pretty happy with this month's acquisitions. Hotel Dusk and MegaMan Powered Up were both 2nd hand purchases from a chain store (Cex). Hotel Dusk just seemed like a good deal, and MegaMan seems reasonable for the price, and was worth it because it seems reasonably uncommon.

The other games were all eBay purchases, and their prices include the postage cost. In most cases, the postage cost made up a majority of the price . Jeanne d'Arc was a good pick up for the price as it's an import only title over here. Super Swiv and Cybernator were picked up as I'm trying to expand my SNES collection, but a lot of the games tend to be quite pricy. F-Zero GP Legend I saw selling cheap and grabbed it because I've never even seen it before (although I've not really search eBay) so it might be uncommon. Plus, I enjoyed Maximum Velocity on GBA too. Mega Man on Game Boy I'm not totally sure why I jumped on, I think I just saw it ending and thought why not. It doesn't seem that great of a game really, although it doesn't help that I came to it directly after Powered Up!

Next month I might look for a few more cheap SNES games, but I've noticed some GBA games are going cheap atm. I might jump on some of those and brave the torrent of fakes that go up on eBay.

Mega Man on GB is great. F-Zero Maximum Velocity was my first GBA game and it's pretty tough, but the graphic style would be like F-Zero 2 (if there was one) on the SNES. Super SWIV is Firepower 2000 here in the US, and it's a shmup worth playing.

SWIV and Cybernator only arrived today, so I'm yet to try them out. F-Zero is on the way. As I said, Maximum Velocity I enjoyed, so I figured the sequel would be worth getting. The only PAL F-Zero game I don't own now is the SNES original.

As for Megaman GB, I played for a bit and encountered a lot of annoying slowdown and frustrating level design. I came straight from the relatively easy but very polished Powered Up though, so it wasn't a great comparison point. I also happen to own Megaman III for GB, which seems far superior in every way. I hear that II is easily the worst of the GB Mega Mans though.

Let me know how well GP Legend pans out. I've got MM for GB 1 & 2, and I think 2 wasn't really that bad. Easier than 1 by far, and you get MM3 bots (& stages!) near the end too. The only thing I had an issue with is the Clash/Crash Man transliteration.

So this past month I decided to broaden my collecting goals. Rather than focus exclusively on Dreamcast, I started picking up Sega CD and Saturn stuff as well. I find this adds an even greater selection of interesting games to my library, as the whole early optical media days presents amazing variety from killer 2D games, awkward 3D games and even impressive arcade ports. What's crazy is that this month turned out to be perhaps the most I've added to my collection in a single month this year.
