Most of the games AVGN reviews tend to shoot up in price too.

It's really more of a speculator thing than anything I think. People think the attention will cause the price to rise, so they buy up copies quickly, which causes the price to rise. Self-fulfilling prophecy I suppose.

I got out this weekend before the hurricane started affecting us (dc area)
i went to a retro video game store, and got a couple of gaming items for a deal although other games and hardware were priced a bit high.
3 guides at .99 cents-Tekken 3, Crash bandicoot , God of war 2 Special edition with art book and sleeve=$3.00or

2 ps2 games (buy 1 get one half off) limited edition star ocean and disega: hour of darkness:til the end of time=$22.98
(i think its a fair price for both games)

Along with those purchases they let me have a a old dirty Wii Zapper for free
(which cleaned up nicely and looks new)

A local pawn shop chain is clearing out PS2 and Xbox games for $0.99 each; so, I have been trying to get to as many as possible. That said, the selection is a little weak at this point. Anyway, I just picked up:

Roll Away (PS1; complete) - $0.99
Future Tactics: Uprising (Xbox; new!) - $0.99

I do not know much about either game, but they both look interesting (and it is hard to beat two games for a total of $2.12).

Went to the Chicago Toy Show this weekend, although I am a big toy collector, I also was on the hunt for things to add to my game collection. There were a few toy dealers that had a few video games mixed in, but not many. At one point I came across a guy selling a Vectrex in perfect shape in the original box...the box had a little wear, but the console was perfect...inside the box was 2 original Vectrex games, which looked never opened. He was asking $100, which is a good deal considering the games were in boxes, but I wanted to think about it. Then I walked away for 10 min and realized how badly I have wanted to find a Vectrex at non-Ebay prices and went back only to find that it had been sold. I was crushed...haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

Here is another bundle I found, an older lady sold it to me and said she didnt know much about it. Got the whole bundle for $50, she wanted 100$. I bought it because of the Felix and Indiana Jones...figured if nothing else I could justify the $50 just for those 2 alone.

Here are the games, it also came with NES Power Pad, Zapper and 3 NES OEM controllers...

Anyone know how rare the Felix the Cat in box is? It is perfect and so is the manual...cant find a boxed copy online right now. Also, seems the Indiana Jones is uncommon, the box and manual is mint on this one too.

Looking at a couple recent auctions, a CIB copy of Felix sold for 60 not too long ago, and a perfect mint one sold for 71, so I'd say you did good!
