Sweet potatoes and yams are both awesome... but yes, completely different things!

Supposedly the Jamaican Olympics sprinters eat a bunch of yams as part of their training regimen.

What's really sweet (no pun intended) about yams is their low glycemic index.

Since this thread is still being active:

Tonight I'll cook penne topped with a creamy shitake mushroom sauce (basically a roux with half and half), with artichokes as a side dish.

Tomorrow I'm roasting a whole hen, stuffed, and with all the trimmings. Kind of an early Thanksgiving since there is a possibility I might have to eat at the in-laws, who don't serve anything that isn't room temp.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a blackened steak that can be used to write notes on your napkin if you have a brilliant idea in the middle of a meal.

Yes, and their preferred presentation is the steak resting in a hammock of ketchup. Paired with uncooked broccoli mixed with raisins and fat free mayo.
