I miss all the niche shows G4 used to play;G4TV, Portal, Arena, Cinematech, even Starcade.
The whole network seemed like it was run on a shoestring budget at first, and I almost think it benefited from that.

Man, it seems like G4 turning into a man's channel isn't going to help the channel itself. Even though someone might have said this, the way G4 is steering away from geek culture (gaming, technology, etc.) is like how MTV airs non-music shows daily now (it should have been called TTV-Teen Television).

honestly guys, if you want good video game TV, it's called youtube. Granted there's a lot of garbage on there to wade through, but you can find some great stuff

Attack of the Show was completely moronic, but I used to occasionally watch X-Play when I had cable service a few years ago. It was pretty cool. I liked that Adam Sessler guy, seems like he genuinely liked video games and knew what he was talking about, whereas it was obvious most of the hosts on those video game shows were just script reading and had no idea/didn't really care what they were talking about.

This reminds me of how MTV slowly became less and less about music and is now the asshole of the television world and airs nothing but drama reality shows.

Hey come on now, Ninja Warrior and American Ninja Warrior are fun to watch.

Ninja Warrior was great n' all, but nothing "beat" Unbeatable Banzuke. That show was all kinds of awesome.

It's rather disappointing to hear about X-Play, though. Haven't watched it in a long while and I can't say I'm really surprised given how things like television and radio all seem to be gearing more toward mainstream garbage. Just no room for something different, I suppose!
