Cdamms Collection.

Post by cdamm »

So- i put some of this up in the 'introduce yourself' thread, but figured it could go here with explanation:

retro/ sd gaming: Samsung 32" hd crt, amplified svideo splitter plus (left to right): Wii, cdx, snes, ps1, and sms (always hooked up). The monstrosity next to the sms is my printer (im low on space :D)
Image
Cabs: NBA Hangtime, NBA on NBC/ Blitz 2000 gold edition dual cab (the marquees are actually in great shape, but their backlight plus the flash on my camera washed them out for the pic), and Neo 29 candy.
Image
HD gaming/ Home theater: 73" Mitsubishi hd rear projection, H/K DVD/SACD/DVD-Audio, Denon AVR-2308 CI receiver, 'dustbox' 360, Dreamcast, PS3, controller chargers for the ps3 and 360, Center channel is a Def Tech Mythos Seven, Main fronts are Martin Logan Montage, Rears (not in pic) are Klipsch RS42 2 way speakers, and the sub (also not in pic) is a Klipsch RW 10d
Image
Game storage. Billy Shelves from Ikea. Keeps it neat. Aside from the games there is a GC, Genny 3, SFC, N64, a saturn, and an av modded nes up there. In the small boxes on the bottom are a couple of pcb's- 1000 milga and a prototype ghosts n goblins.

This guy... I like this guy. 8)

Cool stuff, man. That 73" Mitsubishi is a beast.

You should get a Sega Master System II to round out that "mini" console set up for the CRT

Would like to see the games please :)

Not a fan of games room threads where I don't get to snoop out titles I might have forgotten about or not heard of ;)

Screw the wood, show me the candy! Smart man having the CRT for the retro and the rear projection for the current gen, most ppl struggle (and drop dough) on finding a single monitor solution for their gaming needs, when a cheap 2nd CRT works perfect!

Glad you can join us over here.

I like the way you've arranged your shelves in the corner. It works well and maximizes space!
Like some of the above post's I'd love to see a closer shot of what's in them (the games!) :D
Thanks for the sharing your space.

ok. various questions/comments:

fastbilly: above the candy is some new orleans jazz art. before it became a 'game room' this room was theater/ pool table. i wanted arcades, so i got rid of the pool table to make room. That decor is being phased out since i saw another collector who has been mounting marquees on his wall and i want to mimic that.

EllertMichael: Got a regular sms, but i hear you on the sms2. its neat in it's own right.

Allen: will take detailed pics eventually, but save for a couple of items, there is nothing spectacular on the shelves.

blu: binders are full of women.

i kid. they are called shock boxes and are basically like the old school disney big vhs tape cases, but made for mvs titles. If you look on the top left shelf, you can see the ones with inserts. I clearly need to make more inserts.

majors: Hey tony! you're everywhere, huh? ive had that crt since it was new- being one of the last gen crts made (i bought it around '05-'06 ish) its not exactly a cheap one- and it does hd, which is cool. I keep a 19" panasonic around in my utility room for light gun games, since the hd crts do not register light gun stuff. (fun fact!)

Turtle- those are the 'billy shelves' from ikea. a $5 add on part lets them snake around corners and remain stable. they are great retro shelves, easy to assemble and customize for your needs, and are nicely designed- i may act like a toddler, but at least i look good doing it.

Thanks for the nice feedback!
