Help with burning DC games/emulators

Post by SamuraiMegas »

So I used this guide:
http://theisozone.com/tutorials/dreamca ... 012-style/
And I did everything word for word, but when u bring up ImgBurn again it doesn't have the stuff under file. So I accidentally drag the folder with the .cdi files and stuff and I bring it up it has everything so I burn the genesis emu with games on there, pop it in my dreamcast and nothing happens.
Here are the two types of CDs I have and was using
Memorex Bkack Cd R
On the top it says recordable,40x,700mb,80 min. It says it's all use music games and data.
I also have maxwell music cd r with the same stuff except 40x.
Please Help me.

yes, I concur.

You can find the discjuggler program online.

The software is just a demo. But its good enough to burn games. The demo can only let you burn at slowest speed. But thats the way to do it anyways. You have to burn slowly.

dont burn fast.

If you're still not sure, just redownload the rar file again.

You may lose some cds in the beginning, but once you figure it out, Its cake.

I use Alcohol 120% and it works just fine. It works almost identical to DiscJuggler. Burn at the slowest speed.

It might be that your CDI image is bad, and that's why it's not working. You mentioned it being an emulator with ROMs... did you build the image yourself? Or did you download a ready to burn image?

Boot Dreams is another free alternative for burning Dreamcast CDIs.

Well, it said it was a self boot. My main question is if I need different CDs first of all though.

I would say the image is bad before I start blaming the CD-R. I've used dozens of those black Memorex CD-Rs and never had a problem with them before.
