I picked the right time to move out of New York. Worst I'm seeing out here is a bit of wind, other than that clear skies and 70° weather. I'm sure the area I was living in is going to be absolutely hammered, it rains for days there as it is. My sister lives in Nassau County, NY, and I guess her area has been evacuated to a shelter for the time being.

My University already canceled Monday and Tuesday classes. I am a bit surprised, tbh. Seems premature.

Classes canceled tomorrow here also. Lucky kids get a whole extra week to turn in their papers to me. :P

I'm actually pretty lucky, since I'm just a few blocks away from the evacuation zone.

Ziggy - did you get my message? You ok out there?

8 inches over 2 days? Pfft, amateurs. :P

But seriously, bring the patio furniture in, unplug the consoles and be safe guys.
I'm actually not worried about flooding. We've gotten more rain than that before. I'm worried about trees coming down from the loose soil and heavy winds. I think that's what I'll be keeping my eye on most.

Just got your message, replying now. I spent a lot of the day preparing. Making sure everything outside was taken down or in, or tied up or whatever. All that kind of fun stuff.

University of New Hampshire did this too.

I just brought of all my deck/porch furniture inside. Gonna charge DS and GBA tonight. I've got plenty of food and agua. Thankfully I have propane heat so I'm set if/when the power goes out.

I always seem to be the last person to get power back after an outage. The perks of living on a private road.

I'm surprised I didn't feel the quake from Canada since Washington is so close geographically. I heard this has led to tsunamis in Hawaii. Crazy.

Looks like I'm off tomorrow. I might have to actually play some games if the power holds out.

I am not worried about the flooding. At the first sign that there is water I move everything up one floor so it isn't a big deal, disconnect plugs and such.

I too am worried about the trees. While my area doesn't have any power lines we can get damage from falling trees on cars and such. I moved all three cars in the driveway but I have a feeling after its all said and done, the trees I used to climb as I was a kid won't be there anymore.
