Look harder. You've only tried two you said. PLENTY of places online sell legit (not knock-off, which I wonder if you are unknowingly using) controllers. Even if yours are broken, why don't you fix them? All you need is a screwdriver and a strong adhesive meant for plastics. The first-party controllers are built sturdier than most other pads.
And I've tried fixing them, the problem is something to do with either the rubber components or the electrical connections themselves (which I've already scrubbed with an eraser and cleaned with alcohol). The triggers literally just stop working at random. Every other button is fine.
It makes me wonder if it's somehow a system problem.

I've never experienced broken shoulder buttons before but, find one of these and you're golden:
It has grippier plastic, fits more comfortably in my hands, and I've preferred it to the official controller model since I was a kid.

one day i pop up on racketboy and the familiar faces pop up. but yes- a neo controller would be better than any snes one.
