This is surely a subliminal political statement of some type. Perhaps, if I extrapolate this comment to extreme amounts I can suck you into an asinine controversy.

"Jmustang1968 is avoiding the issues."

There we go...and now...

"...That makes him evil."

Yeah, that ought to do it.

The current Supreme Court is both incredibly conservative and incredibly activist. If the Republican party regains the presidency, it will likely have the opportunity to nominate several Supreme Court justices and shift the Court even further to the right. I am incredibly uncomfortable with this prospect and, as a result, could not vote for a Republican presidential candidate even if I thought his election would be better for the economy.
^ This.

And the first thing the conservatives would to is to try to overturn Roe v. Wade. Regardless of ones views, I am highly uncomfortable to have the federal government so closely control the events that happen in one's bedroom or doctors office. People should be able to make their own decisions regarding that issue of their health with the input of their doctor and their family, not the federal government.

Better to vote for a third party candidate than not vote at all.
Why? If enough citizens don't vote, and there ends up being a VERY low voting rate, wouldn't that send a message that the politicians are not reaching the populous and that maybe something needs to change?

They probably wouldn't care. It's not about reaching the populous. It's about making sure the voting ends up working out in your favor.

Maybe we could re-bury Jimmy Stewart in the Pet Semetary and then send him to Washington to bring back the honesty.

Can't bring back what never existed.

FDR

76 years and nothing has really changed in politics.
Voting is still just as important though. If we don't, the people in power, or those who seek it will. At that point we truly won't have representation.

I think a better message would be sent if enough people voted for a third party candidate.

I cannot think of any time when the act of apathy resulted in any specific change.

Not voting at all makes no statement. How are they to tell the reason you didn't vote? How would the people in power know that you aren't voting as a statement against them as opposed to lazyness or indifference?
