mjmjr25's Custom Neo Geo Arcade Cabinet - Updated 10/25

Post by mjmjr25 »

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my latest arcade project. The following is a Mahogany and Birch Custom Arcade Cabinet.

This is a WIP, pending a monitor and the system to arrive, which is scheduled for this week.

Technically this could be used for anything really, but it has been designed specifically for a CMVS setup, including a CMVS and (2) arcade sticks. It was built with some interesting specs.

-Height is 36", so can use a high stool or you can stand. Height is adjustable up to 4".
-The interior is completely open. By adding weight on the framing, the 2x4" construction lumber provides plenty of support.
-Doors on front allow access to the front and the rear is completely open for ventilation and rear access, as needed.
-Control panel is designed to have arcade sticks placed on top, but still embedded (pending, briefly). Inside the control panel itself, it is completely hollow, should I choose to bury wiring or perhaps build the sticks into the CP itself.
-It is designed for a monitor to be set on top the back of the CP, or can be mounted on sides by side-panel extensions.

So this is a diving board for one of yr toddlers Mike? Doesn't seem very responsible.

Mike's actually won many awards for his parenting theory and philosophy.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

What pickled and canned delights hide in those Ball jars?

^Apple Butter and Cinnamon Apple Slices in the jars, Amy did some canning over the past 2 weekends from our apple trees.

The cab itself, imagine a standard candy cab, but no monitor or arcade sticks yet - those are pending. I can't display that part just yet, but will do so soon. That part will make sense soon enough 8)

I can set it up "generic" and take a few pics to get the effect...

So this is "sorta" the idea, but not quite. It will be dedicated for Neo Geo and the monitor and sticks will def. look more "built-in" to the unit.
