My wife & I reminisce about living in Seattle in the 1990s with the grunge music scene. Lots of great bands, albums and live show memories.

Awesome video. I'm a huge Seattle fan, and I love collecting old compilations from the local Sub Pop label. TAD appears on them a lot, and I love them.

Green Apple Quick Step also had a song on the Home Alive compilation.

A great band from Portland is the Wipers, they pre-date grunge by a decade but they were very influential with their music and approaches to it.

I was also happy to see The Posies and Frosting on The Beater at the end there. Hater was also a good album & side project. Nice Soundgarden singles there too. Looking very forward to King Animal on 11/13!

I'm really glad to see fellow music lovers noticing the albums at the end, because there are a lot of gems in there! I was passionate about the Posies on that album. Burn & Shine and Coming Right Along are masterpieces of songwriting in my opinion. And yes, I'm looking forward to new Soundgarden very soon!! Good stuff

Though I lived in Utah in the 90s and didn't move to Seattle until 2003, I was a huge fan of many underground bands from the Seattle/NW region at the time. I was obsessed with Kill Rock Stars and K! records. I was sort of unusual being a straight white boy in Utah, obsessed with the riot grrrl movement and listening to stuff like Bikini Kill, 7 Year Bitch, and Heavens to Betsy (before the singer founded Sleater-Kinney).

The first concert I ever went to was back in 1993 with a band from Tumwater, WA called Unwound. The show I went to looked pretty similar to this:

Absolutely. Definite Door is good too, I first heard that on the Seattle documentary Hype! and the soundtrack to that has tons of good stuff, plus a bonus of Tad Doyle's "lumberjack" character right on the CD itself.
