I would like to know your opinion on Apple's upgraded machines Graphics cards.
iMac:
Nvidia GeForce 680MX and 650 M
Mac Mini:
Intel HD graphics 4000
I'll make a big guess and say macbook air wont be able to run Super Mario Bros.
New Mac line graphics cards
Re: New Mac line graphics cards
I don't have hands-on with 'em. Might be easier to say once some reviews show up for the machines.
That being said, a good resource for laptop video card comparison tends to be Notebook Check which has a graphics card comparison chart here.
The 680MX is a new part specifically for the iMac (at least thus far) so there's speculation, but no benchmarks yet. Based on specs it's a top-tier laptop card, and their estimates say around the same as a GTX 580 on the desktop, which is still good but not as good as you can get (especially for the money an iMac with one will cost).
The 650M is decent, but will already struggle to run current games at higher resolutions/detail settings.
As usual, the Intel Integrated graphics aren't really something you want for gaming. The variant built into the Mac Mini compares better than older versions, but it's still something that'll usually see you running low settings (here). It's the same thing that the Air has too.
All in all, fairly standard level of GPUs for Apple.

Re: New Mac line graphics cards
Integrated graphics are fine for most older and doujin games. Just not fine if you want to play the latest and greatest at decent settings.
I should also note that there are a few games incompatible with integrated graphics. One of my doujin games gets me a blank screen when I use the Intel graphics. When I switch over to dedicated it works great.

Dude what is the deal?! You keep asking computer questions...It's not a big deal but this is a retro gaming forum.... why don't you join a Apple forum or Toms Hardware forum to ask these types of questions? Or are you just trying to get your post count up? I get a feeling its the latter...kingmohd84 wrote:I would like to know your opinion on Apple's upgraded machines Graphics cards.

And there are plenty of PC gamers and PC enthusiasts here willing to talk about computers. If it's not a big deal, why bother writing that post? I really doubt he's just trying to get his post count up.8bit wrote:

Older. Not wiser.

@isiolia
thanks a lot for the helpful information, I was correct. Apple keeps selling average graphic cards. I am not sure why they keep doing this. I bet they will have a problem running Dead Space in 1080p , something no new computer should having. Thats a 4 year old game running on 7 year old hardware.
As far as I can remember, Doom 3 (2004) could not run in full settings on my 2008 macbook

Not sure why is this a problem. This is a forum where people come to talk about and discuss videogames. I am unaware that we are not supposed to discuss current generation because this is a "retro" forum. Playstation 3 and xbox 360 are being discussed just as much. I am also unaware that there is a limit on threads you can start. I also believe that I am starting around 1 thread a day which is not much in my opinion, fairly average.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:And there are plenty of PC gamers and PC enthusiasts here willing to talk about computers.
