Do you have the habit of buying games first before console?

I have a bunch of Dreamcast games, controllers a mouse and two keyboards but no Dreamcast

I've only bought a game for a system I didn't own once.

When Morrowind cameout I was absolutely obsessed with the game so I bought it for Xbox even though I didn't have one. I used to drive over 20 minutes to my cousins house to play it on his Xbox and would often spend the night there playing it.

Its weird now that I think of it, but I only wanted an Xbox so I could play Morrowind. I specifically got the system for that game alone. (Buying the game and an Xbox was cheaper and more practical than buying a computer that could actually run the game at the time)

Eventually I got my own Xbox and basically never went back to my cousins house since.

I used to have an SNES, but now I just have a stack of SNES games. Kinda the reverse of the discussed situation but still kinda frustrating atleast to me.
