Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Saw some one in the B/S/T section selling Grim Fandango and made me aware of the value of that game. Went back to a store I had recently saw it at and picked it up for $3.

Nice grab. That is a uncommon PC game. I got it for $1 not too long ago, but mine has scratches on it.Mechblue wrote:Saw some one in the B/S/T section selling Grim Fandango and made me aware of the value of that game. Went back to a store I had recently saw it at and picked it up for $3.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
This could very well be my goodwill find of the year:
Found them in a stack of NES games. Also in the stack were some sports games like Hoops, Jordan vs Bird, the Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet triple cart, Kung Fu, 10 Yard Fight, and John Elway Football? (I don't know if it's the actual title, but it does have "John Elway" in the title) among others.
Next to them was a stack of EA sports titles from last gen. Below the glass case where the games were, was a PSOne mini for $14.99, and a loaded model 2 Genesis with 2 controllers, connections, and a game (I don't remember what game it was). Also $14.99
Seriously, if I had more money on me, I would have grabbed the Genesis and 10 Yard Fight as well.

Find of the year? It's a damn awesome game, and on its own its a plenty nice find, but Contra isn't that expensive...
You really don't think you've done any better?

It may not be expensive for you, but I don't have much money to work with so finding Contra at less than 3 dollars is as good a find for me as any.
I've done better deals, via Craigslist, but I don't really consider them "finds" the same way I do when I find something at a store.

I kinda agree with applequeso.....
but hey whatever floats your boat.
I post random stuff I find anyways.
There's plenty of time to find games even cheaper. It just takes time.

I wouldn't use Amazon has a pricing point for looking up what games go for. Amazon sellers usually price higher than what Ebay completed auctions go for.

Jeez, if I was gonna get this much grief for talking about finding Contra in the wild for $2.99, I wouldn't have bothered posting.

No, it's just that you should've posted it in the Video Game "Finds of the Year" thread. Not here...MyNameIsVince wrote:Jeez, if I was gonna get this much grief for talking about finding Contra in the wild for $2.99, I wouldn't have bothered posting.

We're just playing around, no need to get upset.
It's a great game for a very nice price. Just thought it was strange that you hyped it up as your "goodwill find of the year"
