is the PICO a video game console?

I wouldnt mind having one. I do own a game but not the console. The last time I saw a somewhat compete console was back in 2002-3, at a fleamarket.

and you want to know something weird/funny. The Pico has pokemon games!

some may have thought this would not be possible/BLASPHEMY , but it did come out in japan!

Yes the sega pico is awesome i am working on a complete set for mine.
I only paid 3.00 for mine i have since seen maybe 3 or 4 in the wild.

I passed up on one a while back in San Francisco. I'm still ambivalent. On the one hand, I had one (Richard Scarry's Busy Town ftw), but on the other hand, I just can't see myself enjoying it. Maybe I ought to invest in one just in case I have kids.

I wonder if the Pico is region-free? I just recently read about this on Wikipedia, and there's about 250 games for this thing. It would be cool to get one for my daughter, but I don't think I have ever seen games for this thing anywhere. Apparently there's a Richard Scarry game of Huckle Cat and Lowly Worm... I freaking LOVED Richard Scarry's books, and my little girl likes them too.

I think it may be harder to get the games.

The games are books with a rom chip on the bottom.

I'm sure you can find them new.

But when it comes to kids and books, the books lose. They may not be taken care of very well.

Yes, I would say it is a console.

RFGeneration has the console and most games listed in its database.

I had never heard of the Pico before this thread, I'll certainly pick one up if I can find it for cheap.

I think this was the only game we had. I will say, though, that for a Pico game, this one looks surprisingly good:

The ones i come across range from 5.-20. for the system i think the most i paid for a game was 1.99 cib. The books are pretty tough to kill since the pages are laminated.My favorite one is the sonic the hedgehog. Most of the games i got came from salvation army.

I plan on picking one up within a year or so as my little girl will be able to start using it. I really look forward to playing stuff with her. I started her with Space Harrier and a stick already though.
