I agree, Bioshock Infinite looks amazing.

I have played through both Bioshock 1 and 2 and loved both. Bioshock 1 is truly the one you need to play though as it is very scary and super atmospheric. Bioshock 2 focused more on nailing down the excellent shooting mechanics, but as a result lacked the same feeling as Bioshock 1.

A great FPS very similar to Bioshock is Singularity.

Too much dogging on Bioshock 2. Going back to such a locale was not exciting enough for some people? That and it pulled some really cool stuff with the Little Sisters later on, and the ability to use a gun and plasmids at the same time was fantastic. New enemy types and heck, the multiplayer wasn't half bad when you could get into a game. People only glancing at this game or skipping out on it for being a simple sequel (we never see that nowadays right?), are really missing out. I thought it was great. Don't go in expecting it to have to surpass the twists in the first game or anything, when they aren't even anything compared to System Shock 2 anyways... and that doesn't make me like Bioschok any less either way. They're all great.

I just don't get the logic. Thief 2 must be skippable along with Doom 2 then? etc lol.

I've only played the first Borderlands and I've never played it in multiplayer. I have a great time. It's a really lonely, lost in the desert to fend for yourself, kind of game. That's an experience I can get into, and I've never had the interest for making that game multiplayer, despite the praise its multiplayer received.

I think if I ever buy Borderlands 2, I will change that and insist on making it a multiplayer experience, but the first Borderlands, to me, is a game about solitary questing and I love it for that Wild West, struck out on my own, feeling.

I highly recommend trying the call of cthulhu: dark corners of the earth. It's more of first person action/adventure/horror game then an FPS but it has a really great creepy atmosphere that really draws you into the game. It does a great job of capturing the unsettling imagery of H.P Lovecraft's storys.

I liked Bioshock 1... but it couldn't keep a hold on me. It just didn't have the oomph to keep me going. Little things made it less attractive.

The #1 thing about Infinite that intrigues me is the environment and style. I've always had a certain love of over Americanism and zealot like patriotism. Its great, goofy, and over the top in a way I can get into. There's the communist hate, which I always find great. "Better dead than red." is among the best war quotes ever.

Also, I couldn't get into the aquatic thing of Bioshock. As much as I love the ocean, I think they missed out by not pulling in more work with water and coral and other oceany things. Blegh, I felt like a missed opportunity.

Sorry for the OT but you might like Warhammer/Warhammer 40K games&lore if you're into that kind of stuff. The Empire and The Imperium of Man to be more precise.

If you have access to a Wii you can try Metroid Prime series.

In any event Bioshock Infinite is looking pretty good. The first two games are great games to experience in there own right. I always got that "tension" feeling every time I play but it was in good fun.

I'm a chunk into 2 and my stance on this hasn't changed personally. Call me crazy, but I also enjoy these games more on my own. There's not as much depth to the story in these games as Deus Ex or the new Fallout's, etc, but the atmosphere still says a lot and I just sometimes love taking my time to stop and look around at the great environments. I wish Fallout 3/NV looked this good and varied.

Even completed a NG+ on the first game. So that was like 60 hours I poured into it, pure solo. So far I played online with a buddy on 2 once and it was alright, but the co-op experience pulls me away from sinking into the game and having more fun with it I guess. It's not Left 4 Dead or things like that.

So I can easily figure I'm in the minority, but yeah seriously give these games a shot because the single player just might be fun for you alone.

Xeogred, I'd say trying Borderlands 2 split screen. I think it pulls the best portions of single player and multiplayer together.

The problem I have with co-op is that the other person I'm with always triggers something I'm not ready for. Beat-em-ups and shmups are the only games I can really co-op because they have a fixed progression rate, so having multiple people doesn't really affect the rate of content. The first time I played Serious Sam 3 was a co-op experience, and it felt like I was being dragged around by my partners, rather than enjoying the game myself.
