Do you have the habit of buying games first before console?

Anything that is gaming related that doesn't fit well anywhere else

Do you have the habit of buying games first before console?

Post by JC48573 »

when I'm broke....or not "ready" to buy a console (especially with handhelds), I always buy the games first. I particularly buy the games I know they are going to be hard to find, especially with companies like Atlus, Aksys, and sometimes Xseed.

Currently own 5 games on the 3DS, none on the Vita.......

I bought Xbox games before I got an Xbox and Game Gear games before I found a system to play them on. I usually found them in thrift stores for cheap and couldn't resist.

I currently have a handful of Dreamcast, 32X, DS and 3DS games, with no systems to play them on. I'll rectify a couple of those soon though. Probably some time after the holidays....

I'll most likely do the same for the WiiU.

I have one Amiga game, but no Amiga. The game was too cheap to pass up.

The local record store has a stack of Atari 7800 and Atari 8-bit games that have been collecting dust. I might snag a few of those.

The only time I've ever done this was for the 32x. See what had happened was... I went to Goodwill one day and I saw a couple of 32x games, I had no idea what a 32x even was at the time, but I thought the cartridges looked really cool, especially Virtua Fighter. So I bought it. I read up on the 32x, thought it sounded interesting so I was then on the lookout for one. Eventually found one at a booth in a flea market for $10. And that was that.

Not really. I did buy 3DS games in anticipation of getting the system, but only like the week prior to the XL coming out when I'd already decided to buy one on release.

I think the only game I have that I don't have a system for is the Highlander game for Jaguar CD, and that's 'cause a friend who long since sold his Jaguar and CD unit found it while cleaning up and gave it to me. 'course, I have no plans to ever own a Jaguar CD.

For the opposite situation, I have a 32X and no games for it
