. I was about to make a thread of what if's but it looks like there is one already, so I BUMP 
-What if the Wii was exactly like PS3/360 when it first release? no gimmicks just a standard button controller and HD graphics?
-What if SNK actually made "new" games that is not part of their long line of series?
-What if Sega Neptune released instead of 32X in it's place?
-What if Alex Kidd series came back?
-What if Capcom actually listen to their fans and release Mega Man Legends for 3DS?
-What if we get a game where Princess Peach rescues Mario?
-What if there is a Nintendo Land theme park?
-What if this is all a dream and I wake up back in 1993?

It would have sold rather badly, I think. PS3 and 360 already do a capable job being the "standard" HD consoles. We would have ended up calling the Wii the Gamecube 2.

What if...
The 32x was released as the Neptune, and the Saturn was dropped. At the time the 32x really did have pretty awesome graphics. Arguably better than the 3DO and definitely better than the Jaguar. That would have also put Sega's next-gen system at a full year before the PlayStation came out, and it would have been at a much lower price-point than either the Saturn or the PlayStation. They probably could have had it at the sweet $200 mark, and had backwards compatibility to boot!
What if...
The Wii U becomes the console of choice this up and coming generation. I don't think it will, to be honest, but, we'll see how the launch goes. I'm really curious to see how much demand there really is for a new generation of consoles.
