cant get past cyclops cave, i can make it to the boss with a few hits left on me then he finishes me off. it makes me mad!

Are you using potions? You can carry up to five.

I used to think that way, until the game handed me my ass a few times. Though it's an admirable way to try and challenge yourself so I won't criticize you for it. When he does that attack where he puts his blades into the ground just move away from him and that's your chance to hit him. I use magic or arrows. I'm starting to really, really love arrows since maxing out my speed. You have to stay on the move when fighting him. When he starts throwing the knives at you I think you can block them. Don't know if that helps at all. It's really all about avoiding his attacks and waiting for an opening.

Some of the bosses in this game ROCK. I mean we're almost in Treasure territory here. The Ice Castle boss is just plain awesome. He pissed me off, but I beat him first try with a tiny bit of health left and no potions. I felt pretty damn good. There's just something incredibly cool about that boss, like something out of a Tim Burton movie

Oh, and there's one stage in this game that fans of The Behemoth's last game will LOVE.

Have any of you focused on your speed stat? I'm actually JUGGLING people with my arrows now. I'm firing them off rapid fire like Legolus from the Lord of the Rings movies. Oh, and I'm just flying around the screen too. Your movement speed goes up a lot with points in speed and it's help A LOT.

Let me compare and contrast for you. I made some comments about how the two compare in another post, so this will just be adding to that. Guardian Heroes has more story and lots of branching paths. Castle Crashers is mostly linear, with almost no story. What's there is told through action rather than dialogue. Castle Crashers has tons of weapons you can use, but I haven't found too much variation among most of them other than their looks. Though there are a few that are very cool, like the lightning spewing light saber and I've heard there is a very awesome weapon you can grab after beating the last boss if you're quick. In Guardian Heroes, there's one additional weapon for one character only. Castle Crashers has more characters than Guardian Heroes, but less real variety among them. I'd say only magic attacks differ and I get the feeling there are some that will be shared between multiple characters. Alien Hominid seems to have a unique magic attack though(his charged gun blasts). Having tons of characters to use in Castle Crashers seems more like a novelty, unlike the very distinct characters in Guardian Heroes

Castle Crasher's combat system has a lot of different moves and abilities for you to use, but it's mostly just options. It doesn't take as much skill and technique to play a character in Castle Crasher as it does for one in Guardian Heroes and Castle Crashers doesn't have any complex Street Fighter style moves to pull off. The rpg element is stronger in Castle Crashers though. You can replay levels and bosses to level grind, and you have helpful items you can use in combat unlike Guardian Heroes. One thing both games have in common is that what stat you put points into has a big effect in how your character fights

One area where Castle Crashers really destroys Guardian Heroes(and I say that with respect)is in the humor, creativity and sheer insanity of the events that happen within the game. I would even say that I like Castle Crasher's visual style more as well. I think the game beats out Guardian Heroes in its bosses too. I mean some of them are just plain awesome and Castle Crashers does a great job of creating some really epic moments. While Caslte Crashers doesn't have anything as cool as the undead knight, you will find other characters fighting alongside you in some stages. Some of the animal companions have fun abilities(like a bat that bites people's heads:)and a few are useful(like Spiny who boosts your defense). The animal companions ALMOST seem like a novelty, but a few of them are actually pretty cool and useful.

I can't comment much on arena mode, other than to say that given the greater variety between characters in Guardian Heroes it probably has a much better arena mode than Castle Crashers.

So which game is better? Hard to say. For a hardcore gamer, I think Guardian Heroes is more demanding and can last a bit longer in terms of replay, but the more accesible nature of Castle Crashers can be considered a good thing as well. It's a strange thing, I sort of think that GH is the better game, yet I think I'm having more fun playing Castle Crashers.

This game is awesome. Range combat is a little whack and it has some issues. I can see the similarities to G.H. but yeah it is very different.

Just beat the game. Last stage is just plain awesome. I love this game, even with all of its flaws. You all need to play this or you fail at life :wink:

I agree about the "flatness" of the hit detection. It's a bit annoying but just takes getting used to. Somehow your attacks seem a little less badass when they're only like two inches wide.

Yeah, there's quite a bit of farting and shitting in this game. Toilet humor! I guess it's meant to appeal to the 13 year old in all of us.
