Yeah that was the first thing that I thought of, but then realized that either way that wouldn't shut off the audio/video.Hobie-wan wrote:He'd still get it to boot and go to the menu and tell him the door was open.chupon wrote:Not an expert but have you checked that the cd cover is pushing that little handle back so the Saturn knows the cd area isn't open?
Also - what model Saturn?
About 14 hours now. Still nothing.Does yours have the blue reset button next to the battery? How long did you let it sis completely unplugged from the wall with no battery before trying again?

Have you tried plugging it back in and turning it on yet?noiseredux wrote:About 14 hours now. Still nothing.Does yours have the blue reset button next to the battery? How long did you let it sis completely unplugged from the wall with no battery before trying again?
Alternately, a sacrifice to the Dark Lord might be in order.

What happened during the time between when the console last worked and when it first started to go dead?
I'm thinking maybe the power supply is busted. Does the green light stay lit, or does it blink?

nothing happened. Worked Friday night. Didn't work Saturday morning. The green light stays lit -- no blinking.SaturnHST wrote:What happened during the time between when the console last worked and when it first started to go dead?

Well if you can't sort it out I would be interested in taking it off your hands.

the light doesn't need to blink for the PSU to go bad. it could be dried out capacitors giving dirty power or a blown component. if he has access to another working saturn, he could swap parts around and test to see if the PSU is good.SaturnHST wrote:What happened during the time between when the console last worked and when it first started to go dead?

Are you sure it's not a blown fuse? Probably not likely but it's still something worth checking out.

if I had access to another working Saturn I'd play games on it.SnowKitty wrote:the light doesn't need to blink for the PSU to go bad. it could be dried out capacitors giving dirty power or a blown component. if he has access to another working saturn, he could swap parts around and test to see if the PSU is good.SaturnHST wrote:What happened during the time between when the console last worked and when it first started to go dead?
