FML, I think my Saturn just died. Please help me. Please.

Post by noiseredux »

I went out and got a new battery for my Saturn today. I installed it. Went to turn it on and the disc doesn't spin, and the laser doesn't move. WTF? I took the battery out thinking maybe it was something there... but nope. Just all the sudden won't spin the disc. I get a greet light on the console, but no video output it seems. Please say I can easily fix this and that I don't have to buy another console.

EDIT:

so to make it clear--

Green light goes on on the console.
No audio/video.
No disc spin.
No laser movement.

something probably got knocked loose I want to say

I had a similar thing happen to my Saturn once, though it still had video output. To this day I have no idea what caused it to stop spinning discs or what caused it to start spinning them again.

This is a dumb question but is the battery the right-side up? Did you unplug it from the wall and let it sit?

the battery is in right. But even without a battery in there it's not working anymore.

I doubt you'd have to buy a new one.

Just wait until one of the more technically inclined members here chimes in. It's probably something really easy to fix.

Not an expert but have you checked that the cd cover is pushing that little handle back so the Saturn knows the cd area isn't open?

Also - what model Saturn?

He'd still get it to boot and go to the menu and tell him the door was open.

Does yours have the blue reset button next to the battery? How long did you let it sis completely unplugged from the wall with no battery before trying again?
