does anyone know where i can buy a kisado converter?
Re: kisado converter
for those who don't know, a kisado converter is used to play Japanese PC Engine games on an American TurboGrafx-16

Re: kisado converter
Unless you are short on space, it can be cheaper and easier to pick up a PC Engine instead. FWIW that article is slightly misleading. Only the orange one is a Kisado convertor. The purple one has a different name that escapes me at the moment. It does the same thing though.

Re: kisado converter
You mean one of these?
Lucky me, few years ago won this in an Ebay auction for a TG16 and games lot for a very reasonable price. The converter was listed, but apparently fell under the other bidder's radar.
Re: kisado converter
I seem to be one of the resident TG-16/PCE gurus here (not that it means anything!), and... yeah, good luck getting a Kisado converter. You could try over at PCEngineFX, but... same story with a slightly higher chance. Other than that, eBay I guess.a.hickman2012 wrote:does anyone know where i can buy a kisado converter?
If you want it in order to play PC Engine games, it's a stupid idea. Get someone to mod your TG, or buy an actual PC Engine. I'll hook you up if you really want one. If you want a kisado for collection, then my advice above applies.

Re: kisado converter
I think a japanese system would be the best route, i've heard some folks sell these adapters for $100.
Some times you can really luck out and get one at a thrift store.

Too expensive.
Don't bother.
I feel like I'm constantly telling people this but...
Get a PC Engine Duo!

Re: kisado converter
As others have pointed out, the Kisado is not easy to come by.a.hickman2012 wrote:does anyone know where i can buy a kisado converter?
If you're dead set on a converter but wouldn't mind if it's specifically not the Kisado version, then probably your best bet would be the Mirai. They tend to be a little more common to find. I have one myself and so far it's worked flawlessly with everything I've thrown at it.
You could get one over at http://www.consolegoods.co.uk
Scroll down and click on the PC Engine / Turbo Grafx section.
They go for about $80 pre-shipping. Yeah not exactly cheap but unfortunately those are the type of prices (and higher) you'd be looking at for these converters.
