So, I'm think of buying these controllers for my SNES.
I read some of the reviews and one in particular talks about how crappy the D-Pad is. He said it basically acts as one big button, when you push one direction two others push in as well.
So, one of my questions is: Would this be due to a cheap rubber contact under the D-pad (talking about the rubber thing that makes contact with the circuit board)? If so, would you guys think it would be possible to use ones out of an official SNES controller?
My entire idea is to take the circuit boards out of the wireless controllers and put them in the SNES controller shell and use the SNES buttons and rubber contacts.
What would be my obstacles in doing this?

It isn't going to fit. You have the extra wireless bits plus battery.

Re: Merging Controllers
As far as wireless SNES controllers, I have the Messiah wireless controllers; they're pretty good.

Re: Merging Controllers
I would think if there are problems with the buttons, it might be the rubber padding. I would try swapping the rubber paddings and the plastic buttons from an original controller; that is after you try out the controller first. Maybe the reviewer just got a dud. Maybe the controller is fine? If replacing the buttons and rubber doesn't work, then I think it might be time to think about swapping circuit boards.

Re: Merging Controllers
If the dpad is able to be pressed in and registers more than one direction, then the problem isn't with the rubber membrane but with the fulcrum that the dpad rocks on.
