Flightless

*click to play any of Nitrome's many free games*

Nitrome is one of the most prolific indie developers out there. And aside from being productive, the games are pretty consistently awesome with an '80s arcade feel to them. Flightless is going to be Nitrome's first commercial release. This is going to be more of a fleshed out release than Nitrome's usual free stuff. It could be really good, so keep an eye on it, and if you've never played a Nitrome game before, do yourself a favor and click the picture above to go play something like Test Subject Blue, Cave Chaos, Silly Sausage, Rubble Trouble, or Twin Shot 2.

Outlast

Image

This is an upcoming survival horror game that looks really intense judging from the trailer video. It's made by an indie team called Red Barrels that is comprised of several developers that split away from Ubisoft and EA to do their own thing. These guys have skills, given their work on Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and other famous titles. Their independent foray, Outlast, looks damn freaky.

A puzzle platformer about Nicolai Tesla where you use the powers of electromagnetism to move through Tesla Tower, which is wonderfully illustrated and animated. Yes, please.

If this game is as much fun to play as the trailer is, then I'm sold.

The Raven

This is a new point & click adventure from the people behind The Book of Unwritten Tales. I still haven't gotten around to playing their older games yet, but The Raven looks mighty impressive. Click the image and watch the trailer.

I don't think the game can possibly be as awesome as the trailer, but don't let that stop you from clicking the picture link. Trailer of the year!

Slender: The Arrival

This is a sequel I'm looking forward to! The original Slender: The Eight Pages turned out to be rather frightening for a game that was mostly just a proof of concept. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do in this bigger, badder sequel.
