Hobbies other than gaming?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I was really into hiking - geocaching for a couple years. Then bad times hit real hard last year & haven't really had much opportunity to get back into it.
But also, last couple times I went out, I was picking up A LOT of ticks. I had ticks hazard on my exclusion list & they still made it into my cache lists. No health insurance & catching any of the diseases those fucking things can pass along, would ruin me.

It was fun times though. I'd be gone for days, traveling & hitting all kinds of hidden places. No video game environment will ever compare to the wonders of what can be seen outdoors.

Good luck. I really mean it. I think staying sexually abstinent before marriage is incredibly difficult. It does have perks though. I think it's much easier to call off a bad relationship before sex and all the emotions that come with it get involved.

I watch all three promotions (Ring of Honor, TNA, WWE), which is REALLY hard to keep up with especially with WWE saturated us with far too much programming every week. I also am at least vaguely aware of the various indie promotions like Dragon Gate, New Japan Pro Wrestling, etc. though I don't keep up with them. I'm not an encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge, but I certainly have a more than casual interest. Though there were periods of my life when I wasn't following pro wrestling, it has been a part of the majority of my life from childhood to adulthood

I like comic books, but I'm something of a casual fan. I mostly keep up with Bat titles, Fables and Buffy related books and I've been reading some of The Walking Dead. My favorite series at the moment is Angel & Faith. I haven't read anything Marvel since my college days when I was into Spider-Man, X-Men, Wolverine and Deadpool. I want to read more comics and get more into the hobby, but I've no time and money for it. Gaming really pushes a lot of my other hobbies back.

I'm kind of into metal. I'm in this weird sort of middle ground between casual metal fan and hardcore metalhead. I don't keep up with everything in metal because I have rather specific tastes. I tend to only like certain bands and styles and everything else just doesn't appeal to me. Aside from metal, I'm generally interested in indie music, good electronic music, chiptunes, generally anything that is not mainstream. I never got into rap or hip hop though. It's not that I hate those genres, they just don't appeal to me much

I like Sci Fi and genre TV. I try to keep up with that stuff so I watch shows like Fringe, Revolution, Supernatural, Doctor Who, etc. I generally am also interested in any noteworthy show regardless of genre, so I also watch stuff like The Wire, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, etc. just because they are so acclaimed. I enjoy good TV, but again, gaming makes it hard to watch as much as I'd like. It takes priority over everything. I don't watch TV casually. Stuff like reality TV, competition shows, etc. don't appeal to me. I just want to watch whatever is smart and getting lots critical buzz.

Movies I watch when I can find the time. I like mostly action, Sci Fi, comic book movies, Hong Kong martial arts movies or any Asian action movies, comedies, etc. Anything that gets good reviews will grab my attention really and like most of my hobbies I gravitate more towards geeky/nerdy stuff or non-mainstream stuff.

I'm a big Joss Whedon fan. I religiously follow most of the stuff he does though I haven't seen Cabin in the Woods yet and have yet to read his X-Men comics. However, I have watched Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dr Horrible's Sing a long Blog, Dollhouse and read the current Buffy/Angel & Faith comics as well as Fray. I actually started watching Veronica Mars just because I heard Joss was a fan

We have a ton of interests in common!!

Chuck, Breaking Bad, and Doctor Who are the best TV shows I have seen in a really long time. I'm with you on most of what is on TV these days. I read anime/manga and comics but I don't really keep up as much as I use to. I read them casually on my tablet or computer. The only manga I read weekly is Bleach/Naruto every Wednesday. I used to buy issues here and there of comics or Shonen Jump but it's much easier to do it online and I save some shelf space. 8)

I've been restoring classic vehicles with my dad since I've been about 13. Mostly we do trucks; 1960's Chevrolet trucks specifically. He did it as a side job to earn extra money when I was younger, and he one day decided that he wanted to share his knowledge with me, so it just took off from there.

We finished his truck a couple years back: a '66 C-10, Fleetside w/ a 283 Hi-Torque and 350 Turbo Auto in it. Now we have another in the works; a '67 C-10. That was on the road before, and was the first thing I ever drove. After we finished my dad's truck, he decided that we were gonna redo the '67 from the frame up.

Used to have a 350 in it, but now it'll have either a 283, or a 327. Hopefully, when Springtime rolls around, we'll get back to that, but as of right now it's in about 7 pieces.

-I'm a huge comic geek, but I think most of you know that already. Into DC and Marvel Comics, particulary.

-Big metal-head. I listen to metal everyday and I try to see a few shows a year. Wish I could see more, but I have to travel a bit to see shows; they don't come to my town.

-Sci-Fi and Horror films.

-Pro-wrestling fan. Not as big into it as I used to be, but I still watch it.

-Spend time with my wife.

-I spend too much time online reading random crap, posting on message boards, and watching Netflix and YouTube videos.

I want to learn how to play guitar, but I haven't gotten on that one, yet.

We're like brothers from another mother! We have like the exact same interests. I think the only glaring difference is that I'm not a huge Joss Whedon fan. I don't dislike him, but I'm not a huge fan either. Firefly/Serenity and Avengers are both freaking awesome, though!
