I'm thankful for the fact that level grinding was an option in Code of Princess. Never would have finished the game otherwise.

I was annoyed by the fact that nearly every piece of weaponry and armor raised one stat at the expense of lowering one (or several) others. It seemed like most everything the kitty cat sold was useless too, I always obtained sufficient armor/weapons after completing quests.

Yeah, there's a lot of little things about Code of Princess that just seem like they could have been done better. I don't think it's a bad game, but it doesn't quite live up to some of the hype it has received. I finished it, and didn't really feel like playing it again. Great beat 'em ups usually make you want to play them over and over again. I think I've also been spoiled by all the personality that games like Double Dragon Neon and Lollipop Chainsaw exhibit during gameplay. Nothing really interesting happens as you fight your way through stages in Code of Princess and nothing really changes. There aren't any cool little surprises to break things up like the two aforementioned games. It's just, kill these guys. Okay, kill some more. Uh huh, here's some more. Okay, level over. No cool traps to use on enemies. Not much enemy variety as you can beat most enemies the same way. No unexpected hazards. No interesting bonus stages. No extra moves or abilities to acquire as you upgrade your characters. It's just...so....bland and by the numbers. It doesn't even compare to other titles this gen like Shank 2, The Dishwasher games, Castle Crashers, Double Dragon Neon, etc.

Starting to find my groove with combat in Sleeping Dogs now, and I'm starting to really like this game. It's got some fun elements to it and really nails that Hong Kong movie feel perfectly

I started Jet Grind Radio for the first time last week. Really liking it so far. It took me a bit to get used to the idea of the game as a whole, but after the third level or so, I was hooked. I am still stuck on the second one of those "spray paint the backs of the other gang" levels.

I have almost beaten Shikigami no Shiro II for the Dreamcast. It's been pretty close so far. I've been playing as the broomstick girl.

Sagaia for the Genesis. I still can't get enough of that Stage Clear music. Clap-clap clap cla-clap clap cla-cla-clap.

Currently playing The Guardian Legend on the NES. I'd never even heard of it till I saw Mike Matei's obscure NES games on cinemassacre.com and I have to say, it might be my new favorite NES game.

You've had Beat as your avatar for who knows how long now, yet you've only just played Jet Grind Radio a week ago?

I quit playing JSR because of this level. Not the sewer one, but the one in the city with the song about greasy socks.

Yeah, this isn't really making sense to me either.
