Your favourite videogame cartoons?

The list is somewhat bigger than I always imagined it would be. I was also surprised at the quality of Sam & Max and Earthworm Jim in particular, arguably the best of the bunch. DIC's SotH was also watchable, though nowadays I wouldn't bother with it. The Mario show was passable, only because there was not much choice back then

Wow, I had to look some of these up. I had no idea that there was a Rayman cartoon. After looking the list over, the ones that stand out to me the most are Donkey Kong Country and Monster Rancher. I remember seeing Donkey Kong Country like two or three times and I thought it was awesome (it probably sucked, but I love DKC so much that it didn't matter). I also thought Monster Rancher was sweet, but I literally have no memory of that show at this point.

I actually want to take the time to look at the Earthworm Jim cartoon sometime, I love EWJ and I've heard some good things about it.

Especially Darkstalkers. Harry Grimoire was a boss.

This and Earthworm Jim.

That's probably because they are the only ones not aimed at children (writing/humor wise atleast) or to make a quick profit

Sam & Max was the best videogame cartoon ever IMO, even though it was so toned down and kiddy compared to the game and especially the comics.

Not counting anime I used to watch Captain N, Zelda, the various Mario and Sonic cartoons, Street Fighter, Double Dragon and Mortal Combat. Except for maybe the Sonic cartoons those don't really hold up very well today though.

Some of my favorite video game cartoons:

Wing Commander Academy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bzEMITUq_w) was really good and as far as video game cartoons go it was one of the most faithful to the source material.

They even got voice actors from the games like Mark Hamill, Tom Wilson and Malcolm McDowell. I've been meaning to pick up the DVDs they released of it just recently.

Also even though it's not based on just a video game, the Battletech (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-_-8D8R4CU) cartoon was really badass and had an amazing ending.

Mega Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akJygsSXcjw) had a pretty absurd cartoon but I always liked it. The theme and its video introduction are still pretty killer.

Wth  I ought to check this one out. They seriously made a cartoon out of everything back in the 1980s and 1990s (Rambo and Bill&Ted's excellent adventure for example). Makes one wonder what happened to western animation, there's like 2 or 3 decent American cartoons these days and all cartoons look like the same kind of flash crap you can watch for free on Newgrounds... where did all the competent animators go? Even most anime isn't what it used to be.
