I got the top-loader.

$120 for a CIB system sounds like a great deal, I saw a few CIB ones on ebay but most were $200+. Mine is not CIB, but comes with two different controllers (regular and pro) and was $85.

Load times don't bother me too much honestly. I mean, I have a Commodore 64.

But KOF's are ridiculous. It has to load in between EVERY round, since I'm assuming it has to load the sprites for each character. Ugh.

By Pro, you mean the smaller bean-shaped stick? I just have NGCD controllers w/the clicky stick.

Do you guys think I would like Sakura Wars: So long my love? I saw a copy for 10€ and I wonder if I should pick it up. I do like Strategic RPGs and the dating aspect looks fun, dunno. Any thoughts?

I went in expecting to enjoy it well enough, and came out absolutely loving it. I also found it for roughly the same price (£8) and thought it was well worth it. One thing I didn't realise is that it's more visual novel than strategy game though, which is the opposite of what I was expecting. However, I enjoyed the visual novel bits more than expected and sometimes got annoyed when I had to do battles instead of continuing the story. Worth a picki up imo.

That reminds me that I really ought to play Sakura Wars: SLML. I pre-ordered it but have been so preoccupied with other games that I haven't even put a disc in the system. I want to recommend it but I'm not really qualified to do so!

The original Dragon Quest looks like crap. The character doesn't even turn, he always faces the same direction even if you are going to the left or backwards. And the menu looks so dumb, a command to open a door? Goddamit.

Kind of makes me want to play it, I'm so weird :/

Don't forget the TAKE command for chests and the STAIRS command for, well, stairs

But it was my first foray into that genre known as the RPG, so I have much love and respect for it. Completing it was a huge accomplishment.

Just purchased a Neo Geo CD. I may live to regret that decision.
