I never saw Darkness Falls, but I remember seeing the trailer at some movie several years ago and thinking "a horror movie based on the Tooth Fairy?"

Is it one of those so-bad-its-good ones?

I don't remember it very well honestly, I saw it back when it came out. I do remember that was pretty dumb though.

I thought it was fantastic. The sound design, the atmosphere, Gretchen Lodge's performance (She's absolutely amazing, fearless and it's her first leading role  ) and it's creepy beyond belief.

watched this last night. was ok at best. a poor man's paranormal activity, i thought, but not executed as good. the leading lady did do a great job though, and nice body at that, lol. i had never heard of it and checked it out based on this thread.

Why compare a movie to a chocolate doughnut?

I just ruined chocolate doughnuts for a few of you, didn't I?

Not a movie for people with anxiety issues as their buttcheeks will probably be clenched through 95% of the movie. ARGO is tense, clever, and definitely in my top 10 of movies released in 2012 (possibly top 5).

It is a very wordy film, not that that's a bad thing, so don't expect non-stop action but you can expect non-stop tension. ARGO walks a thin line of being too overachieving, but Benny pulls it off.
I'll echo this. It was an awesome movie. It takes real skill to keep you tense through a movie where you already know the ending. In that way it's similar to Apollo 13, which also made you wonder if they were going to make it back to Earth (even though you knew they did).

Just saw The Master, plan to see Argo this week. I love the Oct-Dec movie season - all the best films come out!

The Master was a pair of amazing acting performances coupled with expert directing by a guy who's at the top of his game. The story was appropriately bizzare and choppy, which in this case is a compliment.

Headshot

The title is misleading to a degree; this isn't an action flick but a slow-paced thriller from Thailand. Good for a slow evening's watch.

Tobruk

This Czech WWII film was let down by its humble budget of (roughly) 3 million euros.
