No real need for a Pippin to play Marathon. It's readily available for free, legally, either in original form for the Mac (and Windows for Marathon 2 only), or via Aleph One to play the trilogy on OS X, Windows, or Linux.

Also been put on XBLA I believe.

Plus, even if it were a matter of playing the software, far as I've seen you can do that on the classic Mac OS. If you can even find a copy.

Again, the machine and such would be quite cool to have as a collector's item, but practically speaking (such as it is) I'm not sure there's actually a reason to pursue one.
Yeah, I just noticed yesterday that the game(s?) was originally on the Mac OS and it got later on ported for Pippin and windows. I guess that's why I had never heard of it. There seem to be 10 copies of Marathon 2 on us Ebay at the moment, 8 for PC, 2 for Mac.
Pippin is one of those rare consoles where it's almost impossible to find any games on, even on eBay. And the few games that are on there are almost all 100+ dollars.

I doubt that the Gundam or Power rangers games were on any other platform? That might be a reason enough to get one if you're a really hardcore fan of either of those.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

At least two of the Gundam titles did see PC release, Tactics and War for Earth, with the latter seeing a Playstation version as well. Other titles I don't know.

Power Rangers Zeo vs The Machine Empire also saw a Windows release, not sure what other ones might have been on there.

Even then, the software is supposed to be playable on a Mac, which has both emulators, and hardware that probably will cost more to ship than buy for that era.

In any case, I see it as a splendid collector's item, but not so much something to invest in for playing games.

Thanks to everyone that responded. I didn't include the PS2 of most later systems cause I'm focusing mainly on 90's consoles. I'm also avoiding systems that were never released in North America, though I'm always interested in finding out about consoles I'm unfamiliar with.
