Hopefully that's it.

That actually reminds me of why I left Xbox Live in the first place: squeeky-voiced kids less than half my age constantly yelling and swearing.

Anyway...I'll try to get this right so that I can rejoin Live tonight (it's a requirement to speak their language):

ZOMG TIS GAME PWNS HALO PS3 SUXORS!!!!11one1!!
Kids today

Anyway, I'm sure they'll patch the game if the online problems continue. It seems to be affecting everyone who downloaded it. Not such an issue for me, since I'm having fun playing solo. With this game and Viva Pinata 2 coming out on Friday, it's a good week to own a 360. That Bionic Commando Rearmed looks decent too. Too bad I never played the original. Might have to get on that

For those of you who are big fans of Alien Hominid, it's fun running around and blasting enemies in Castle Crashers with fully charged gun blasts. I feel like I'm playing a beat'em up with Mega Man. Something funny about seeing a princess kiss a big bug eyed alien too

Okay, the forest stage absolutely sucks. It automatically loses points for having a swimming level, which is a gaming sin. That, plus the deer riding mini-game and I feel like I'm no playing a beat'em up anymore

EDIT: Honestly, it's not that bad. I just got a little annoyed with that part and went into rant mode. The cat boss is awesome. So far, the game is well put together. Much better designed than Alien Hominid. The IGN guy has a point about every enemy having projectiles. It can get a LITTLE annoying. But it seems fair given that I'm running around blasting guys with Alien Hominid's gun, Mega Man style. Okay, I'm done(a triple post, shame on me). I guess everyone is at work/school whatever, as this thread is sort of dead. I'm lucky to have the day off to play this

No, I was sleeping because I was up playing this game last night and into the morning! :D

Played quite a bit, it is great! I was playing online for a while too, and there was no problem. Hopefully as ZenLogikos said it is the servers getting bogged down by all the new users.

Bah, gotta get to work. :(

I've played through a bit of the game now (going back upstairs to play some more) and so far I think it's really great. In fact, it's exactly what I was expecting and a bit more. The swimming level was annoying but that's the only frustration I've encountered thus far. The animal orbs are quite entertaining to look at (though haven't proved extremely helpful yet) and the variety of weapons and characters is pretty impressive.

My favorite game of all time is Guardian Heroes and I've heard a lot of comparisons made between these two games. While I can very easily state that this is NOT as good as GH, I can also very easily state that in my opinion Castle Crashers is simply an awesome game. I would gladly pay full price for a game of this quality.

I haven't yet been online. I got a PS3 I bought in the mail today so I've been jacking around with that. I'm also absorbed in the political speeches on tv. Too much going on!!!

I hear the online is kinda borked anyway. Anyone tried it?

It's really not like Guardian Heroes at all. No undead warrior, no branching story, less variety among characters, no plane switching. This is most definitely NOT the spiritual successor to Guardian Heroes.

It is an awesome game though. The soundtrack is GREAT. The battles are epic and I really don't need to tell everyone about the awesome visual style and comedy. What I like most is that this game feels like a total package. I always complained that Alien Hominid's gameplay was not up to par, but this game is pretty good.

Unfortunately, there are nasty glitches some players have encountered and the online is giving lots of people problems. Something fell through the cracks here somehow, and they're definitely going to have to release a patch

Lot of genre shout outs too, though I don't know how intentional they are. I've already seen things that seem to reference Golden Axe, Streets of Rage 2, and the TMNT games(the water level). Fitting, since they're all available on Xbox Live Arcade

Oh I agree that it isn't the spiritual successor to Guardian Heroes, but I still think it must have drawn some inspiration from it. I read somewhere that one of the developers was a fan of GH. I haven't tried playing online but I've been doing offline co-op with my wife. What sort of bugs are people encountering?

Anybody have little complaints? Right now I have a few...although maybe I just suck.

1. Can't reconfigure the buttons (seriously, when did this become the standard?)

2. No place to view the unlocked combos (this is crazy, please tell me it gets unlocked later). You see the combo for one second and then never again?

3. Red Knight's lightning is almost completely 2D - it requires you to be exactly lined up, and is extremely frustrating to use in a chaotic situation.

4. This might be me, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get air combos to work 100 percent of the time. 60 or 70 percent isn't good enough. EDIT: Here I'm talking about launching and continuing an air combo, not just jumping in which seems to work all the time.

5. Forced sprinting. I know I could just use the analog stick, but who wants to hold the stick half way anyway? Many times I run a short way up to an enemy and I want to start a combo, but the sprint kicks in and I do the lunge attack. Double-tap sprint has never failed me in any other game.

6. Sometimes your original weapon will disappear entirely when you pick up a new one (instead of just switching and leaving it on the ground). Someone explain this to me?

7. Maybe it's just me, but I am stuck on a boss. I don't want to say the game is unbalanced, but I breezed through everything up to him without dying, and now I haven't beaten him in 6 tries. The last two times, he has killed me with ONE move, destroying my entire health bar. I'm not even getting close. Someone please help. I was quite enjoying the level of difficulty...that is to say, pleasant and comfortable. Being hard is fine, being stuck is annoying (yikes, that sounds awful).

8. This one is the worst...the four main characters are palette swaps. Slightly different magic aside, they have the same movesets and abilities (right?). I assume the unlockables are somewhat different (are they?). I would REALLY prefer four main characters with different speed, jump, magic and attacks. Yes, in other games like Streets of Rage the characters all have throws, vaults, attack combos and whatever, but they are still different...so different that it makes the game completely new when playing with a different character. Why bother with four characters when they are the same? Bah I'm getting angry. Why not have a dedicated magic user? A barbarian? A chick with a bazooka? They make so many freaking fancy character designs for the enemies, how about more than ONE great main character? And, if the unlockable characters play in the same way (apart from the Alien), I'll be disappointed.

Anyway, despite this, I still love the game. Everything has flaws if you're as picky as me. :(
