Re: Poll: who are you voting for this year?
I'm surprised there are people voting for 3rd parties. Might as well just throw your vote away. It's a shame that's what it comes down to as far as third parties. Republicans and Democrats are a lot like Coke and Pepsi. In the end, it’s all the same, you throw up when you get too much of either one. Sure technically there is RC, but it’s cheaper and people look down on you for drinking it.

I just view politics as picking the lesser of two evils for the most part. That always seems to be the Democratic party option to me. Just my opinion, and I don't follow politics as closely as others as it all just seems rather distasteful to me. The lies, the personal attacks, unfulfilled promises, etc, etc, etc. Watching The Wire recently actually reminds me more and more of how ugly politics can be.Betamax001 wrote:I'm surprised there are people voting for 3rd parties. Mitt Romney published his plan to boost jobs in the US like... 6 months ago or something. I seem to recall it created NO jobs in the US, but something like 150,000 in Canada.
Now, I COULD vote, being a US citizen (my Dad is from Ohio and I have my citizenship) but I will not. Because, as a Canadian living in Canada, I would pretty much have to vote for Romney (obviously after confirming the above information hahaha).

I agree that if the option of "no confidence" existed, I would choose that option. But at the end of the day you are voting on someone who is mostly a figurehead. People are far too polar and quick to judge either side, so I tend to stay away from politics.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:I can't stand the idea of either of these men being President.
www.votesmart.org is a good place to get to know your candidates better.

Well a 3rd party vote pretty much is a "no confidence" vote.Luke wrote:I agree that if the option of "no confidence" existed, I would choose that option. Sad truth. I still find myself amazed at how unbelievably vicious people become when politics are being discussed.Luke wrote:I agree that if the option of "no confidence" existed, I would choose that option. I just tried out votesmart, and it tells me that I have the most in common with Gary Johnson. That's where I was aiming in the first place, so good stuff.
