Real word of mouth? None of my friends are big on gaming.

Internet gossip? Then plenty of titles.

agreed, and racketboy has single handidly put a dent in my pocket book with his blasted hidden gems and cheapest games features. racket when i am homeless and destitute carrying my consoles in my backpack running around back alleys looking for an electrical outlet it will be your fault :)

I pretty much owe the enjoyment I have had on my Sega Saturn to Racketboy and the members of this forum as just about every great gaming experience on that system has been spurred by discussion or recommendation.

But as far as true word of mouth, I would have to say Beyond Good & Evil for the Gamecube. It is a game that I heard plenty of people talk about and even read about. Finally about 2 1/2 years ago I picked it up and it delivered the goods more so than I could have ever imagined. It is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I have ever had.

I get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever people talk about Beyond Good & Evil. Can't wait to see what Michel Ancel does next. What's nice about this site, is that it really opens up your options. Sometimes, when all you have to choose from is what's currently hitting the gaming market, you can feel like there's just nothing out there for you to play. Then you come here and see all these awesome games that you probably never even knew about.

I feel sorry for those gamers who think the past has nothing to offer.

Mostly internet gossip, otherwise it's me recommending games to lesser experienced gameplayers.
