The guy whose screen name is a reference to Reboot doesn't play PC games? Seriously?

Jan - RPG - Baldur's Gate
I'm JRPG all the way so let's see how this affects my ideologies of Western RPGs. Plus it looks like GOG has a good $9.99 download for this.

Feb - Other - Bubble Bobble
I supported Game & Watch so I'm a bit disappointed, and even more that Taito Legends does NOT let you continue. Will have to try getting the MAME rom and also see about the NES.

Mar - Puzzle - Lemmings
This is a fantastic pick. Got the PC floppy disk with my old Sound Blaster card and also rented the SNES port multiple times. Tons of levels and the first place I heard "puzzle game".

Apr - FPS - Half-Life
You already know my gnashing of teeth over this pick. That is ok, because Deus Ex is a shoe in for next year's FPS now that this is out of the way. In all seriousness, as an FPS fan, I will give it a go, but it looks like Steam or bust.

May - Platformer - Fantastic Dizzy
Don't understand how this one slipped past my suggestion for Blaster Master (boo!) but if it was nominated, it must have some special meaning to someone.

Jun - Fighting - Fatal Fury Special
Still sad I missed when RB did KOF '98, but if there's a FF title to be played from the original series, this one has to be it. JUBEI YAMADA!!!!!

Jul - Racing - Road Rash series
Very excited to be returning to this series again, now that Genesis emulation has gotten past Genecyst and KGen98

Aug - Beat-em-up - TMNT Turtles In Time
I've completed the SNES port on the hardest difficulty; let's see if I can repeat the feat.

Sep - Text A(d)venture - Zork
As difficult as this game may be, it's a rather curious choice and a true retro classic. This should be fun.

Oct - Horror Double Feature - Zombies Ate My Neighbors & Silent Hill 2
Again *grumble grumble missed Sega Light Gun Month*, but this pair will just as good as this year's October picks. I've got ZAMN so I'll be on that probably a bit more.

Nov - Rhythm - Parappa The Rapper
I'm next for punches Noise. But I did play the demo for this back in the day. I was really hoping to break out the DC and see the fuss that was SC5, but I'll grudgingly play this under a bit of protest

Dec - Sim - Wing Commander
As much as I wanted to do MULE, I also wanted a reason to get this one back again. I'll probably do this and The Secret Missions on SNES. One to check out!

Jan - RPG - Baldur's Gate Haven't played this one. Looking forward to it
Feb - Other - Bubble Bobble Meh. Played it a bit before, we'll see how it turns out.
Mar - Puzzle - Lemmings A good game I have no interest in playing again.
Apr - FPS - Half-Life Yeah I'm okay with this, would've prefered something else
May - Platformer - Fantastic Dizzy Don't even know what this is, so yay?!
Jun - Fighting - Fatal Fury Special Another meh
Jul - Racing - Road Rash series Even my fond memories can't make this game playable again.
Aug - Beat-em-up - TMNT Turtles In Time Not a huge fan of beat-em-ups, or TMNT
Sep - Text Aventure - Zork This will be interesting at the very least
Oct - Horror Double Feature - Zombies Ate My Neighbors & Silent Hill 2 Two I haven't played and looking forward to it!
Nov - Rhythm - Parappa The Rapper I don't like rhythm games that much, so we'll see
Dec - Sim - Wing Commander I've played a bit of WC2 and really enjoyed it, definitely looking forward to this one

Yes, I've always prefered consoles over PC, but, even so, I enjoy Reboot very much.
My format: Gamer
To play and collect

I nominated it. The Dizzy franchise was pretty popular over here in Britain and seeing as how it was a bit before my time, I've never tried it. I figured it was a good oppurunity for some of you guys over the other end of the Atlantic to try out something that was popular here whilst the NES dominated the American market.

As for the genre, it's half way between a platformer and an adventure game. They can be a bit brutal from what I understand.

Which is why I am willing to see what it is all about. Most of those early Dizzy games and the "Quattro" game collections were just distributed for the NES in the US by a company called Camerica and because they were not licensed by Nintendo it was all like "ZOMG POOR QUALITY!!!!!" in some cases being unfairly lumped into those other unlicensed games from Color Dreams and Wisdom Tree and yet they brought Micro Machines here and that's a fantastic racing game. This one seems to be top notch with a TON of ports besides the NES, so I'm gonna check it out.
