That#s not quite how this is working. We will playing 4 of these games - the one with most votes out of Game & Watch vs Bubble Bobble, the one with most between Puyo Puyo and Lemmings, The one with most between Virtua Tennis and Road Rash, and the one with most between Space Channel 5 and Parappa the Rapper.

At the minute, it seems we'll be playing Bubble Bobble, Lemmings, Road Rash and Parappa the Rapper next year.

On a seperate note, if Parappa does win, I see no problem with making it Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy. The games are both very short and very similar, so it's not like it's a problem - it's not really the same as a double feature.

well, voting's closed. Bubble Bobble I'm happy about. Lemmings and Road Rash are fine with me, as were their competition. But I want to punch 17 of you in the mouth for stopping us from playing Space Channel 5.

Here's what 2013's looking like folks:

Jan - RPG - Baldur's Gate
Feb - Other - Bubble Bobble
Mar - Puzzle - Lemmings
Apr - FPS - Half-Life
May - Platformer - Fantastic Dizzy
Jun - Fighting - Fatal Fury Special
Jul - Racing - Road Rash series
Aug - Beat-em-up - TMNT Turtles In Time
Sep - Text Aventure - Zork
Oct - Horror Double Feature - Zombies Ate My Neighbors & Silent Hill 2
Nov - Rhythm - Parappa The Rapper
Dec - Sim - Wing Commander

Usually we pick one game to all focus on, but it's encourage to go ahead and investigate sequels, related games and so on within the discussion thread.

Jan - RPG - Baldur's Gate Sounds great, I just picked up a copy.
Feb - Other - Bubble Bobble
Mar - Puzzle - Lemmings Somehow I've never touched the Lemmings series, so this'll be a good chance
Apr - FPS - Half-Life I love Half-Life, but I've played it so many times I'd have preferred Deus Ex in this case
May - Platformer - Fantastic Dizzy
Jun - Fighting - Fatal Fury Special
Jul - Racing - Road Rash series
Aug - Beat-em-up - TMNT Turtles In Time
Sep - Text Aventure - Zork
Oct - Horror Double Feature - Zombies Ate My Neighbors & Silent Hill 2 Two awesome games in one month. Awesome
Nov - Rhythm - Parappa The Rapper I've been wanting to play this, so excellent choice. Feel free to give me an e-punch in the face, Noise.
Dec - Sim - Wing Commander

My only disappointment is that Metal Gear 2 apparently didn't make the cut.

Ha, all 3 games I suggested ended up making it, even though I voted Game and Watch over Bubble Bobble.

I should be able to play most of these, and I needed an excuse to pick up Fatal Fury Special on XBLA.

I never actually played Lemmings seriously either. I messed around with it for a few minutes but never got into it any deeper. Most of what I know about Lemmings comes from the Game Center CX episodes.

Haha, 2 of mine did, but I suggested way, way more than that . Still, I'm pretty happy with how next year looks overall.

Jan - RPG - Baldur's Gate - Probably the game I'm least excited about. Western RPGs are not my thing, and PC gaming isn't either.
Feb - Other - Bubble Bobble - This one I'm happy about though. I need to decide if I want it for NES or Master System though. Hmm...
Mar - Puzzle - Lemmings - Although I like Puyo Puyo, I voted for this because I wanted to play something new. It's nice and cheap, not sure which of the numerous platforms I'll buy it for. SNES maybe?
Apr - FPS - Half-Life - Actually, this is the game I'm least excited by. FPS really isn't my thing.
May - Platformer - Fantastic Dizzy - This is one I'm more curious about then anything. I'm not sure it's as fantastic as the name implies, but some UK gaming history will be interesting :D. I'll probably get it on either Master System or Mega Drive
Jun - Fighting - Fatal Fury Special - I'll probably pick Up Fatal Fury on NGPC for this month.
Jul - Racing - Road Rash series - I already own the awesome 3DO version of this game, so I'll just play that.
Aug - Beat-em-up - TMNT Turtles In Time - This game is pretty expensive, so I may have to pick up the slightly inferior Hyperstone Heist on Mega Drive instead. I might also pick up Fall of the Foot Clan for GB or Turtles II for NES aswell.
Sep - Text Aventure - Zork - This one I'll play on PC because any other way is stupid. This one's pretty hardcore right? Should be interesting.
Oct - Horror Double Feature - Zombies Ate My Neighbors & Silent Hill 2 - Ill be picking up ZAMN (or just 'Zombies' as it's known here), probably for SNES. Silent Hill 2 I'm less sure about. Maybe I'll give it a try.
Nov - Rhythm - Parappa The Rapper - Woo. I plan to pick up Parappa and might pick up Parappa 2 and Um Jammer Lammy whilst I'm at it. Sorry Noise, but surely this means you can just play Space Channel 5 like, right now instead?
Dec - Sim - Wing Commander - I might try and pick up the 3DO version of Super Wing Commander. Not big on this series, but I have the third on 3DO aswell.

So the consoles I'm likely to play next year:
PC - 2
Master System - 1
Mega Drive - 2
SNES - 2
Neo Geo Pocket Color - 1
3DO - 2
PS1 - 1

On a related (and awesome) note, I was walking through Camden Market in London the other day (I move to London last week), and I happened across a Turtles in Time arcade cabinet, the 4 player one, inside a little market stall. I will be going back to play that !

On a similarly related note, and arcade near me may have Dodonpachi in cab form, so I may be joining in next months TR unexpectedly too :D

I'm happy about the selection. However, I'm not much of a PC gamer, so I might pass on baldur's gate (unless the console counterparts "dark alliance" are accepted?).
