Besides the occasional big game or two (the last two being Skyrim/Borderlands 2), most of the forums are dead or untouched. Thousands of members, but the only other active forum besides AAA games was social. It felt desolate and unloved.
I then found racketboy looking for some questions on what some Gamecube games would be worth for selling price. It made me rethink the whole thing, decide to keep the Gamecube, and revealed to me a nice, tight knit community that I could pretty easily join. I like that its small, but constantly active. I've never had a question go unanswered, and there is always an expert or someone who can direct you to an expert. I love it.
(I'm also happily impressed with how well everybody deals with me. I'm a bit of a shithead on occasion, so I like that people can deal with that. I just hope I never become as bad as a couple of banned members...)
Dood, there's nothing wrong with your behavior on here.
There's a good few people on here who could be classified as dicks; myself possibly included. Dependent on who you ask.
Most people that come to this site, just read through the forums, and leave, mabye if we had more things to interact with each other like
what do you think the characer in the above profile is doing
more interative, I mean Im fine, but thats what I see in other forums
this one gets alot of views, but not alot of people, I do admit, Im not on hear alot, and Ive created a few poll topics, so those people who arent member could do something.......but most people on here dont like polls, and get annoyed by them, and I will never do it again I promise.
I used to come to this website for hidden jems about 2 years ago, and didnt even notice the forum.

NeoGAF is just far too large. It's cool that it's so active, but any thread that isn't posted to every day instantly gets pushed back to page three. There is so much going on, all crammed into one sub-forum, that it's hard to keep up.
Yes, neogaf is overwhelming at first glance but I think the key is subscriptions. For the really interesting threads, I usually subscribe to them and will go through my subscribed threads to see if they have new posts.
One thing I dislike about neogaf is the sometimes childish behavior where people just post one-liners or stupid gifs.
I mainly just post here (and not that much, tbh) and on KLOV, also not that much. I think I might have an ID over at NeoGAF, but I dont know for sure. I haven't been there in forever. I used to frequent Neo-Geo.com but that place isn't really about the Neo anymore. It's mainly a place for people to be dicks to one another. I have an account at Shoryuken.com, but I only signed up so I could see about buying some parts for an arcade cabinet from a guy in Korea.
I like this place most of all.
Also, I used to be a member on SegaXtreme, lol. Remember that?
This is the first forum I've been active with in over a decade. No other place could either hold my attention or be fulfilling enough to make a long-term relationship worth it. When I signed up I honestly didn't expect to last more than a month here.
I came for the games, but stayed for the complicated discussions and thoughtful people. It seems very socially-oriented here, and folks tend to be very giving of themselves. Maybe that's not as common an aim in other general gaming circles? That sort of bonding certainly seems more common in other types of communities, like cosplayers and assorted fandoms. But like foxhound and prfsnl_gmr said, I'm actually getting to know you people as people, and I hadn't necessarily expected that to happen. I think it's pretty awesome.
Yay Racketboy.
