So I just finished reading this, and am I glad it was free. If I paid for this, I'd feel ripped off. (It's actually free, the entire issue, I don't meant that I downloaded it)
This was supposed to be a 1st issue, right? Could have fooled me. By the end of it, I was more confused than reading an issue of Final Crisis. What's with all these "generations" of super-humans? Why are these armored guys chasing this girl? Who are the armored guys? Why are all these ex-Cyberforce members crawling around in the sewers like rats? And why are they so eager to kill this girl they've never met when they were heroes? (Well as hero as heroes got in early 90s Image Comics.) I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING!!!
And to top it all off, I've see MUCH better artwork come from Silverstri than I saw in this issue.
Anyone else checked out the Marvel Motion Comics on Netflix? It takes the artwork of the comic stories, mixes some voice-acting, a little CGI, and a bit of influence from (surprisingly enough) Reading Rainbow.
I watched Iron Man: Extremis, Astonishing X-Men, and Thor vs. Loki: Blood Brothers and enjoyed them. Iron Man: Extremis being the best of them which I recommend to everyone here. Thor vs. Loki being the weakest simply due to the old-English speaking style making you concentrate a little more than you should have (which isn't even historically accurate since they're Viking Gods, so what's the point?).
I also watched Spider-Woman, and couldn't make it any further than the 2nd episode. The story was blah, the inner-dialogue from Spider-Woman started getting self-absorbed and annoying, little-to-no action, and the artwork was very messy looking.
The only one I have left is Black Panther, but that bad-boy is 12 episodes long and I've never been a big Black Panther fan to begin with. But since it's all that's left and I watched the others, I'm willing to give it a shot.

Really?
You know what's funny, in the opening scene of Arrow, you can see Deathstroke's mask on a stick. I don't know why they did that other than it being a small nod to the DC universe:
Just started getting caught up with the stack of comics I have, and I have to say I was really disappointed with Batgirl # 12. They brought in Batwoman for this issue....for no apparent reason as far as I can tell. It seems they brought her in for one reason and one reason only, to make Batgirl look like a pathetic little bitch
Seriously, there's a brief fight between the two where Batgirl gets her ass kicked and quite literally cries uncle.
Really? A girl who has been trained by Batman and Black Canary and can hang with Nightwing in a fight just gets her ass handed to her in less than a minute by Batwoman?
I love this book, but Gail Simone seems to be making a point of making Batgirl look inferior to pretty much every other crime fighter in Gotham. I keep waiting for these badass Batgirl moments that never come. This New 52 version of Batgirl really makes her seem like the weak link in the Bat family. Of all the Bat people fighting the talons in Night of Owls, Batgirl is the one who got her ass handed to her and managed to win through sheer luck
C'mon. This girl wears the mantle of the Bat. Can we stop making her look like a loser all time. Issue # 12 made her seem like a sidekick in her own damn book! That's how far out of Batwoman's league she was portrayed
Angry Batgirl fan here

Seriously. Screw you Shao Kahn I'm gonna play Animal Crossing.
Wow, what a waste of Greg Land's talent. The comic looked beautiful thanks to Hickman, but the story was as lazy as lazy gets. It's a complete rehash of the Extremis story we already read 5 years ago! And the new brown & yellow armor of his that all the Iron Man fans are curious about, is also a complete waste. I see no reason for Tony to change his armor, and his reasons in comic are summed up in statement he made in the comic that went something along the lines of, "New armor was on my wishlist." ...seriously? That's the entire reason? And it didn't show off any new abilities or cool new weapons or anything. So the armor change is ONLY cosmetic as far as I can tell.
I'm quite disappointed since most of Marvel Now is mutant focused and I'm not an X-fan. I had hopes that this might be something I could get into from Marvel that didn't have to do with mutants. Now all my hopes are hanging on "Avengers" and "Superior Spider-Man".

I follow Justice League, and I noticed that there's a short story about Steve Trevor at the end of the current issue. It states "To be continuted in Justice League of America #1"
Are they canning Justice League and starting a new book called JLofA?

I've noticed that a lot of the new titles coming out have this "extreme" vibe to them that a lot of the early-to-mid 90s Marvel titles had:
Is this a direction we really want to see Marvel go?
Granted, in the 90s there was still some great non "extreme" titles coming from Marvel. But more-often than not, many titles that could have potentially been good, fell into the trap of more style over substance. I just hope that history doesn't repeat itself.
On a side note, we're also seeing MANY titles become mutant-heavy, much like the 90s as well.
