make sure you get one with an ac adaptor and possibly a car charger you will be shocked at how fast you go through batteries. you think the 3ds has a bad battery life? imagine going through six double A batteries every 2 hours. i eventually ditched mine and decided to just emulate it on the psp, its just more practical.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Should I pick up a Game Gear? Finally, are there any "must have" accessories that I should look for when purchasing one?

That is what I thought. I think that I will hold off on it for now. I may start picking up games if I see them at a ridiculously low price, however.ninjainspandex wrote:make sure you get one with an ac adaptor and possibly a car charger you will be shocked at how fast you go through batteries. you think the 3ds has a bad battery life? imagine going through six double A batteries every 2 hours. i eventually ditched mine and decided to just emulate it on the psp, its just more practical.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Should I pick up a Game Gear? Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I think you should, I have 4 now lol but three are repair and sells, I kept the blue one for myself and did the cap, led and replacement lens fixes on mine. LED mod gets you up to 16 hours on AA's. Check ebay for people selling lots or bundles of GG systems and games for cheap. Learn how to do the cap fix and you should be good to go with a nice working system. Like my previous find, try to find one that comes with the ac adapter and master system accessory. If not they are around $15 or so. As for games, any of the sonic's, ristar, streets of rage, shinobi etc. are great games. If the system needs to be repaired try not to spend over $10 for it unless it comes with above mentioned items.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Should I pick up a Game Gear? Thanks. I may start picking up some games for it and hope to acquire a good system later. I have a lot of Master System games - I am trying to collect a complete NTSC set - and being able to play those on a portable system is a big plus for me.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I know that one is not going to happen...so, I will likely end up with the PAL version for that game (which, as I understand it, is identical in every respect except the UPC sticker). James "Buster" Douglas Knockout Boxing will be the tough one. (In dream world, however, I imagine myself finding for little or nothing amongst a pile of unsorted sports games someday.)ninjainspandex wrote:good luck on finding a copy of sonic the hedgehog NTSCprfsnl_gmr wrote:Thanks. yep PAL sonic the hedgehog is among the cheapest games you can get for it, its basically SMB/duckhunt for the master system. i think i spent more on shipping from the UK then the actual game. much better then spending $200+

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
You can find Sonic here in the US also (the PAL versions) - the one retro gaming store in my vicinity had one. I have never seen Buster Douglas boxing in the wild. The blue US Slap Shot cart is also a little rarer.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
The AC adapter for the Game Gear (US Game Gear) is the exactly same as the model 2 Genesis and 32X.
