I'm iffy on TSS... it looks like an amazing game, one that's been on my want-list for a long time. Which brings us to my problem with including it in TR: although there are many ports of it, there's no "cheap version."

That said, if there was enough push for it (IE: enough people saying it would be worth it for them to buy it for TR) then I'd strongly consider putting it in the August slot.

I guess this is where I drop in and be 'that guy'.

I like shmups, and I love together retro, but considering we already have a thread where we can play a shmup for every month of the year, I kinda resent using up one of our 12 games on a genre that already gets the most representation on our forum anyway.

Sure, some people might participate in TR who don't join in on the Shmup of the month thread, but tbh, if they're into shmups, whats stopping them from choosing any of the games in that thread an playing along - and then they get a pick of 12 games anyhow.

I just feel like we already have more than 12 genres, why add another shmup when the other thread allows us plenty - hell, if it runs again next year, then there'll have been 24 shmups played already.

I also agree that Twinkle Star Sprites looks awesome, but expensive to obtain.

I forgot about the monthly shmup thread actually.

Alright, why not the Game & Watch suggestion for August?

Have we done a TMNT beat 'em up for TR before? Turtles in Time might be fun.

I'd be honored to have any Ninja Turtles game on my watch.

We could do it as a Turtles in Time/Hyperstone Heist thing, or maybe even just the whole Turtles beat 'em up series. It would help broaden the available platforms.

I'd be down with the 16-bit duo of Turtles In Time & Hyperstone Heist. Might be fun to compare/contrast the two games. Plus uh "TIT" was re-released as an unlockable on PS2, GameCube and maybe XBox? And of course there's the re-shelled remake but it's not for sale any more.
