Saint Ange/House of Voices (2004)
Just finished watching this on netflix. Its a ghost story type movie, but its not scary by any stretch.
Its full of eerie eye candy, both colorful and grimy. The story however, is all over the damn place, and it doesn't really make any sense. Well, it makes sense in context, yet it doesn't, you know what I mean? I guess what I'm getting at is that its just kinda silly and a bit predictable despite the fact that it skips around a lot.
I dunno, I felt like it was trying for subtlety, and if so I think it failed at that.
Anybody else seen this? Agree that its pretty damn meh? Or not?

Behold, my tentative, and slightly tilting, selection:
Let Me In is a great movie. I haven't seen the original yet, but I would like to.
The Crow, a classic, I think I memorize all the lines in that movie.
Anyhoo, the only spooky movie I'll probably watch this month is Paranormal Activity 4. My girlfriend loves the series and I'll be hiding behind her arm in the theater...cuz I am a big pussy.

Looking forward to hear what you thought of it.

Re: noiseredux October horror film spooktacular 2012
My wife and I watched another enjoyable Universal horror classic last night:
The Mummy (1932) - Boris Karloff is amazing in the title role, and this is easily the most "modern" feeling of all the classic Universal horror films. (I have not yet seen The Wolf Man, however; so, I may later stand corrected.) That said, the movie - with the exception of the first scene - is not really much of a horror film. Rather, it ends up being more of a gothic adventure film with a very compelling villain (and remarkable make up effects). In any event, the period furniture and costumes are spectacular, and I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. (My wife was less enthusiastic, but she does not enjoy the very old horror films as much as I do.)
On a side note, the female lead in the film, Zita Johann, was not a traditionally beautiful woman, but was nonetheless quite attractive. You do not see women like that in film today, and her presence in the movie highlighted the homogeneity of today's famous actresses.
