These are all complaints I've heard about RE4, which was awesome. I reserve judgement for now.Gamespot wrote:The Bad: Loads of bad, overlong quick-time events - Excruciating overemphasis on mediocre set piece events - Ruins the pace by constantly ripping control from you - Poorly executed scripted events lead to unavoidable deaths.

To be fair, Resident Evil 5 was pretty sucky and I played the demo of 6 and wasn't impressed at all... I'm willing to bet I'll be siding with the 4.5-6/10 reviewers when I've played it more, but we'll see.

Um, I logged +150 hours into Battlefield 3 so find a better attack vector
In fact I find myself playing much more so-called AAA titles than indie/underrated/niche ones.
I believe that RE6 is a symptom that Japan simply isn't a major player any more save for the occasional outing that grabs the headlines; most million-seller JPN titles depend on their legacy for success.

I never listen to critics. I'm willing to wait and give it a shot, by myself. The trailers and gameplay footage I saw looked good to me. It EASILY looks better than RE5.

I liked the first Transformers movie. And every once in a while I find myself having self-respect. Sometimes I respect myself and enjoy a Transformers movie simultaneously. I'm just like that, a living contradiction.Pulsar_t wrote:Sometimes you just have to stick it to the Man, dudeKillerJuan77 wrote:So... this is how this works:

I don't get itAnother way to look at it: The Transformers movies are bewilderingly popular, but no self-respecting soul would sing praises about it. This is similar.

Although the PS3 version hasn't has as many reviews.. Both Gamerankings and Metacritic averages are significantly higher.. Usually I wouldn't care about review scores, but with this game I think the universally lower scores are somewhat alarming..

I actually liked the first one too. It was a typical Michael Bay movie big on action and special effects, but I thought that formula worked well for a property like Transformers. The movie hit the right nostalgia notes toojfrost wrote:I liked the first Transformers movie. And every once in a while I find myself having self-respect. I haven't seen the other two, but I hear people bash them a lot.

It's alarming when big franchises like Resident Evil, Final Fantasy and Ninja Gaiden are getting low review scores. Suda's Lollipop Chainsaw didn't wow a lot of reviewers either(even though I loved it). It's like you can almost hear the death knell for Japanese gaming.
