Best lights for a GBA?

Post by floattube »

So after reading reviews on various websites, I cannot decide what light source I should buy for my GBA.

The Worm is apparently garbage according to a bunch of reviews on Amazon.

The Halo has mixed reviews, some saying it is terrible and others saying it works great.

And this one which I know nothing about.

What do you guys use? I'd really appreciate some help :)

I would say go for a used GBA SP, it's chargeable instead of requiring batteries and there's a backlight (and on the "newer" models an extremely bright one). If you can't afford that or just want to play on the lesser screen for some reason, I'd say try out the light magnifier that latches onto the screen - I had a worm light back in the day and it was balls.

No, I want to use my GBA. I like the feel of it, I like the fact it uses batteries. If I wanted an SP, I would have bought an SP. I'm sorry but the point of the post was asking which light was the best, not asking what handheld I should buy.

I agree. Go for the backlit SP. If you're handy you could order a replacement GBA SP screen and attempt to install it like this guy,but it seems like a hassle.

Once again, all I am asking is what light is best. Not which handheld.

This bad boy:

it will take forever for it to lose its charge, and you get the strongest lighting in the market with it. Seriously this thing could light a solar system.

from those three options you have, i think "The Halo" (not Master Chief) is your best option. the other two looks and sounds bleh.

Stop being jackasses you guyz. 8)

I do agree with floattube though, the original GBA is much more comfortable and the button layout is better. I prefer handhelds with "around the screen" buttons designs (the Wonderswan and NGPC are also set-up this way).

Anyway, out of those three lights the Halo looks like the only one worth your time.

There isn't one. The GBA screen itself is inferior. No light will improve its underlying design.
