It comes out in two hours. Whos in?
I know I have Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2 to finish, and I already own CC on the 360, but I stated several times if it ever came to Steam Id buy it on the first day. Now I am going to buy it within the first ten minutes.
Edit:
And bought, along with Pink Knight and Blacksmith DLC. Grand total of sub $17 dollars. considering I beat it about 50 times on the 360 and have two max level characters, I am sure Ill get my money worth out of it.

Re: Castle Crashers
I might get it when it goes on sale. Is it anything like Guardian Heroes?

I'll probably end up picking it up tomorrow. More than willing to play through it with people here.

Yes in that it is an RPG beatemup. No in that they are completely different styles of beatemups. Castle Crashers is far more chaotic than Guardian Heroes and is humorous.Duane Dibbley wrote:I might get it when it goes on sale. Is it anything like Guardian Heroes?

Re: Castle Crashers
More chaotic? No, Castle Crashers is tame by comparison. Guardian Heroes was one of their inspirations for the game, but it honestly borrows nothing from that game at all other than the fact that is has upgradable stats for your characters. I think Castle Crashers is actually more balanced than Guardian Heroes. It gives you more to work with (items, health potions)and doesn't overwhelm you quite as much
That said, I've liked CC a bit less since they patched out the boomerang trick. It made leveling up not such a pain in the ass. Shame PC players will miss out on that. Without it, leveling takes forever. Plus, the boomerang is essentially a useless item in the game now. At least the leveling trick gave it a purpose. I hate when players find some cool trick, glitch or exploit and developers patch it out. What a buzz kill. That never happened in the old days. It's just another example of how crappy the modern gaming scene is compared to how it was when I was growing up. It what so much fun going up three levels against the Catfish boss, and made the game so much more manageable if you were playing it solo, which you had to when the game first hit XBLA as they had online problems for a few months as I recall.
Plus, the game has stupid, utterly worthless versus modes in it. If players want a 1 on 1 versus mode, they'll go play a Capcom fighting game. I hate when beat 'em ups throw in versus modes personally.
It's still an awesome game. I don't know why I'm ranting about it all of a sudden. I guess it's cause I was playing it again recently and these things I'm ranting about really stood out to me. Still a great game though. A lot of people still see it as the best beat 'em up on XBLA/PSN. Doesn't beat The Dishwasher Vampire Smile though for my personal favorite XBLA/PSN beat 'em up. That games outclasses CC, Scott Pilgrim, Shank, and Double Dragon Neon IMO. It has more moves, combos and weapons than each of those games put together and offers a faster, more fluid combat experience than any other XBLA/PSN beat 'em up.
