All of the JPN bundles I've ever bought or seen for PSP and Vita always came with the retail case. I guess Nintendo N.A. does the same thing because when I bought my red Wii, New SMB Wii came in a cardboard sleeve.
I say its American companies pinching every pennies they can, regardless if you are Nintendo or Sony. Bundles are used to drive sales up.
@ ksloth, I did played a few rounds of Zen Pinball2 on my Vita, quite slick! But I don't know if you can shut down the gyro-sensor - you can play on sideways, using the touch screen as the flippers.

Probably more a packaging decision. The bundled copy of MGS4 I got with my phat PS3 was packaged same as a retail copy. So was the copy of Uncharted 3 in the PS3 I got one of my brothers, and the copy of Motorstorm Apocalypse that came with my Playstation 3D Display.
Both my XBox and 360 bundled games had both discs in a double-disc case.
My guess is more that it's a matter of what fits in the box they designed for the vanilla product, though I may be wrong in that assumption.
Well, I caved and decided to buy a Hatsune Miku Vita.
The damn thing is sold out everywhere, and if a store had it the price was gouged to hell.
I found one shop that had one left and was selling it at retail price.

How much would it be if I wanted to obtain one from you? Assuming that said store has any left.
Also, thinking about picking up LittleBigPlanet today. Seems that some reviewers believe it's the best LBP experience yet.

My chances of finding another one at retail are less than zero. I'm not even in Tokyo where it would be even worse. I am in the countryside where rare stuff is easier to find. I talked to the staff at some of the shops about it and they all said the same thing. Each store was allotted only TWO models. A Wifi and a Wifi/3G model, which were already spoken for before it hit the shelves. A lot of stores didn't get any at all. I was kinda lucky because the person who reserved the one I bought flaked. Their policy is they hold it for 2 weeks and I showed up the day after the reservation expired. It wasn't even on the shelf, I just asked if they had one.
There were a couple of stores that had them gouged to 55,000 yen. Holy shit.

Guess I should have pre-ordered, but Play-Asia's price was crazy, and AmiAmi didn't offer it.
No worries though. The upcoming plain white model is fine with me.

Doesn't this seem kind of stupid on Sony's part? If there is gonna be such a demand for it, why keep numbers low?
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Welp I just broke down and bought the madden Vita bundle with a 8 gig card. Plan on selling madden as soon as it arrives and getting another game that suites my taste.. If Sony dumps support of the Vita that will suck... I kind of regret not getting a 3DS first haha.. P4 Golden and other NIS/niche JRPGs with trophy support are the reasons I bought one.. If the Vita survives, I see no reason not to have essentially and upgraded PSP.. It will never be a nintendo handheld, but I actually liked the psp for what it was.. Will probably get a 3DS in the future as well since they have an amazing library coming up such as Fire Emblem..
