NES Game Genie safe on an FC Twin or Retro Duo?
From what I understand, these are compatible with the FC/RD. Although, the PC board inside a Game Genie was supposedly made thicker because of it being designed specifically for use with the "toaster" NES. I don't think Game Genie would work with the NES Top Loader.
Anyway, is there any chance this could harm the pin set on an FC Twin/Retro Duo?

i believe you are right, my bad. i didn't read it close enough when i posted.Pullmyfinger wrote:I think he's more worried about widening the caart slot than compatibility, just go for it man, don't leave it in there while not playing, can't hurt to try it out, do it in the name of science
yes, do it in the name of science.

I would try it out, but be careful.
The Game Shark cart for the Sega Saturn was a little bit thicker of a board then the memory cards for the system, which would eventually cause the pins to be pushed out wider then normal, which would result in the slot not being able to read the memory cards any more (because the pins weren't making enough contact with the card). My Saturn console can some times have a tough time detecting a memory card now, because I used the Game Shark. If I continued to use the Game Shark, I'm sure it would get to a point where it'd be impossible to read the card.
I'd apply this same logic to the Game Genie and the FC Twin. It might work the first time you use it, the second and third time too. But after a while, it might mess up the card slot.

Yeah I may not risk it, but I do want to get a SNES GG. Do you know if the SNES Game Genie was the same way, having a thicker board?Ziggy587 wrote:I would try it out, but be careful.

The Saturn Game Shark is the only 3rd party accessory I've heard of that damages the system. I've owned a SNES GG for a long time, and have used it many times, and my SNES system works flawlessly.
